The knocking on the villa's bedroom door jolted Giovanni awake from a wonderful nap.
In his dream, Team Rocket, which he had inherited from his mother, had become the world's largest corporation. It controlled the economic lifeblood of countless regions, and ninety-nine percent of all Pokémon were in his hands.
Countless young people fought to get into Team Rocket. He had so much talent to choose from that he could afford to be picky.

His experience with Mewtwo had taught him that some Pokémon were simply too unruly to tame. Better to give up on them.

Pfft! He sprayed tea all over the covers and broke into a coughing fit.
He looked up in disbelief, his left hand tightening unconsciously around Persian's head. "What did you say?"
"Meow!"
Persian struggled fiercely at the pain, then
