Rosa had been at Orre Academy for almost a week.
She had felt lost and uncertain when she first stepped off the plane, but she was slowly getting used to the place.
There was nothing wrong with it.
The surroundings were unfamiliar, but she was among friends and family. And here in faraway Orre, she didn't have to worry about some group showing up to settle scores.
Best of all, the academy sat on a spacious, sparsely populated island full of Wild Pokémon. In the garden where she stood now, she could see plenty of Grass- and Bug-type Pokémon.
They were all friendly, and Rosa loved coming here to play with them.
Just then...
"Jiggly~ Jiggly, jiggly~"
Two Cutiefly cheerfully placed a flower crown on her head. Rosa checked her reflection in her phone screen and beamed. "It's so pretty! You're all so sweet. Thank you!"
Then she caught sight of something in the screen's reflection. Her expression shifted, and she turned to meet a pair of calm, distant eyes.
Rosa instinctively gripped her phone tighter. A tremor ran through her.
Someone I don't know...
The stranger was riding an unfamiliar Pokémon. He slipped a hand into his pocket as though about to take something out.
Rosa immediately imagined him starting a battle and catching the Wild Pokémon in the garden.
No. I can't let that happen!
She hurriedly looked around at the Wild Pokémon. "Everyone!"
What she saw stunned her.
At the sight of the man, the Wild Pokémon neither grew wary nor fled. Instead, they bounded over to greet him.
Words she couldn't understand reached her ears.
"You all know me? Where did you come from? Pokémon Park? I don't think I've seen you on Platinum Silver Mountain."
Rosa watched as the man pulled a heap of Pokéblocks
