With time running short, Scent Sister didn't stay in Lavaridge Town for long. She headed north to Fallarbor Town.

She knew the area well. Her family's old house and garden were nearby, and the town was full of familiar faces who greeted her as she passed.

Scent Sister also knew the leader of Fallarbor Gym. According to the narration, the woman was a friend of her parents, and Scent Sister had often visited the Gym as a child to play with all kinds of Pokémon.

The Gym Leader specialized in Flying-type Pokémon, an even worse matchup for Scent Sister than Lavaridge Gym. It took her two attempts to win.

After the battle, the Gym Leader learned that Scent Sister had only five Pokémon and gave her one of her own Pokémon that had taken a liking to her—

Tropius.

She said Tropius's ability to carry people through the air might come in handy someday.

Scent Sister accepted Tropius, said goodbye to her friends and family in Fallarbor Town, and set out for Lilycove City in eastern Hoenn.

On the way, she passed through Fortree City.

The settlement had yet to grow to the size of a city, and the roads leading to it were rough. Fortunately, Tropius helped her reach it without trouble.

Fortree was home to countless bird and insect Pokémon. By collecting scales from the insect Pokémon, Scent Sister made fresh progress in developing Fragrance Essence.

She continued east.

The scene shifted, and Lilycove City came into view.
