Beneath the azure curtain of water, Lugia slowly poked its head out.
Its long, silvery-white neck, heronlike mouth without a beak, and triangular black fins like a mask made it look mysterious and magnificent.
But at the sight of it, Baimu and the other Team Aqua members all wore rather strange expressions.
Shelly turned and asked, "Are all the Lugia in Orre this small?"
"Of course not."
Baimu shook his head firmly.
This one was clearly less than half the size of a normal Lugia in the anime. Its head and neck looked positively miniature, and its body was probably no more than four meters long.
A baby Lugia, through and through.
And in the anime, there had been a Lugia chick—Silver. He had met Ash and his friends, been captured by Team Rocket in the Whirl Islands, and ultimately been rescued.
"A small wild Lugia?"
Shelly looked back at him, disbelief filling her eyes. Then excitement took over, and she moved closer.
But Baimu stopped her.
"Wait. Doesn't something feel off?"
"Feel off...?" Before Shelly could work out what he meant, a Team Aqua member suddenly cried out nearby.
"Ah!"
Everyone turned. The man was pointing at the tunnel they had entered through, his face trembling with fear.
"Lu-Lugia!"
A massive head had appeared in the tunnel without anyone noticing. A faint silver glow, like moonlight, surrounded it, radiating a cold and lonely air.
It was another Lugia, several times larger, looking down at them with icy eyes. An invisible pressure filled the dark cavern.
Baimu and the Team Aqua members stood frozen, unsure what to do.
But the Team Aqua members had seen plenty in their time, and Baimu wasn't about to panic over an intimidating presence alone. They soon regained their composure.
Shelly stepped forward, raised both
