A Golden Ring appeared out of thin air in the laboratory.
Hoopa poked his head through. The wreckage around him left his little face full of shock. Pointing at the researchers sprawled across the floor, he asked, "Are they dead?"
"Of course not. People aren't that fragile."
Baimu reached out to twist his cheeks in exasperation. "Hurry up and use Psychic to carry them out!"
"Okay~~"
His voice warped by the cheek-twisting, Hoopa tilted his head and looked curiously at Pachira, who was facing off against Mega Aggron nearby. "Is she an enemy too?"
"Obviously. If someone you don't know shows up in a place like this, there's a ninety percent chance they're an enemy!"
Baimu nodded, then asked Pachira with some surprise, "Not going to try running?"
Pachira raised an eyebrow and drew her gaze away from Mega Aggron. "Kid, you're telling a member of the Elite Four to run?"
"The Elite Four..."
He glanced instinctively at Mega Houndoom, who was panting and covered in wounds.
Apparently sensing the "contempt" in his look, Pachira gave an angry laugh. "Mistaking the results of a sneak attack for your true strength isn't the mark of a good Trainer."
"I save my respect for opponents who fight fair. Besides, we're fighting for our lives, and you still expect me to follow some unspoken rules? That's incredibly naive."
Baimu knew that most people in the main series regions had strong moral standards. Sometimes, even when their lives were in danger, they would stand by while their opponents used some method to gain more power.
But wasn't it a little ironic for the ambitious Team Flare to play by those rules too?
"Fight fair... Hmph. Let's say you're right."
Pachira's expression darkened for a moment. She recalled Mega
