Nanu was a laid-back man at heart.
The longer he stayed angry, the less angry he felt.
What really got him was Baimu saying, "I couldn't help it. Of everyone I know, you're the most reliable."
Couldn't help it, huh!
What else could he do?
Forgive him, of course!
Nanu slumped into a chair. He picked up a kendama with his left hand and played with it, clacking away, while waving his right hand dismissively. "All right, get going if you've got nothing else!"
Acerola hid a giggle behind her hand and invited Baimu over to her place.
Little Mimikyu swayed beside her.
It was still early.
Baimu had nothing else to do, so he went along.
When Alolan Meowth saw him leave, it froze. It had been guarding the Rainbow Pokéblocks from the others.
"If you want to follow him, there's still time," Nanu said quietly.
Alolan Meowth hesitated and glanced down at the little box full of Rainbow Pokéblocks. Then it seized the box in its mouth and dashed out on all fours.
It did not catch up to them. Instead, it followed at a distance, hiding beneath the trees by the road to watch.
Unfortunately, Alolan Meowth's supposedly secret surveillance was no match for Hydreigon's powerful sense of smell.
"Raaagh~"
"I know."
Baimu patted its head.
Acerola asked curiously, "What's wrong? Is Hydreigon hungry?"
"No... Do you help Mr. Nanu look after Meowth often?" He forced the conversation in a different direction.
Acerola did not mind. Smiling, she said, "Sometimes! Uncle likes to slack off, but he really cares about his Meowth. Oh, and the Meowth you brought here thinks about you all the time!"
"Thinks about me?"
Baimu fell silent.
Acerola went on, "Yep. You used to visit it a lot.
"Then you suddenly stopped coming
