Lin En used a Psychic Storm to lift himself into the air. He rose beyond Angron's reach and looked down at him.

Angron noticed him rising and looked up.

One was in the sky; the other was on the ground.

Angron threw back his head, murder in his eyes, and roared at Lin En.

The Daemon Prince's roar rose from the ground, making the air hum.

After his ascension, the Butcher's Nails had been rewritten by the power of the Warp. They had become part of his daemonic body—his brain itself.

Angron could barely speak anymore. His jaw and throat had warped beyond human speech, leaving him to roar and snarl most of the time.

Before his ascension, he had still endured the agony of the Butcher's Nails, but he could hold full conversations with other Primarchs. He could debate and mock them, even argue at length with Guilliman and Russ.

When he had first ascended during the Horus Heresy in 30K, speaking was extremely difficult, but he could still force out a few words. He had even managed to trade barbs with Sanguinius.

Then Sanguinius had ripped out the Butcher's Nails, spine and all. :)

By 40K, Angron's reason had been almost entirely extinguished. Most of the time, he was nothing but a killing machine, capable of roars and snarls but no coherent speech.

On the rarest occasions, in brief moments of clarity brought on by special circumstances, fragments of the old Angron's personality surfaced. Only then could he vaguely utter a few complete words and recall memories of Nuceria.

Anyone who believed the dark god hadn't personally intervened to reduce a Primarch to this was fooling themselves.

Angron could not be saved. Khorne had already devoured most of his soul. No matter how good a person Angron had
