Gabriel and Sentoyor had been worried to begin with. When they saw Lin En fall, they immediately ran toward him.
At the time, Gabriel was leading the Flesh Tearers in cutting through Khorne's lines on the left flank.
He had just cut down a Berserker and had yet to turn his head when he caught the golden figure falling from the sky out of the corner of his eye.
The bald warrior whipped his head around, scared out of his wits.
He thought Angron's counterattack had knocked Lin En down, and that the last blow had injured him, leaving him in need of support.
Sentoyor charged alongside him.
He cut across from the right flank, his white cloak trailing behind him. As he stared at the figure falling from the sky, both his hearts seemed to stop.
He was fast, surging ahead in just a few strides.
But when he took another step forward, he realized Lin En was crying.
Sentoyor stopped at once.
Gabriel caught up from behind, only for Sentoyor to stop him too.
Gabriel had no idea what had happened. They were still a dozen meters from Lin En, and he immediately tried to push Sentoyor's hand aside. Then he, too, saw their young commander sitting on the ground with his face buried in his hands.
Gabriel lowered his foot without taking that next step.

Sentoyor held him back again, giving him a look that told him to stop the others behind them.
Gabriel met Sentoyor's eyes and understood what he meant.
They both took a step back.
They would give their lord some space to let his emotions out.
Even adults broke down sometimes, and their lord was still a child.
