At its heart stood an enormous mechanism that turned nine of the chambers into something like the cylinder of a revolver. They rotated according to a set pattern. From the outside, nothing appeared to change—it was still the same chamber—but in reality, an identical chamber had taken its place. That was why Green had clearly seen a Skeleton Lord on the verge of breaking free of its Seal, only to find no trace of it when he went back inside.

The rotating chambers were the Ancient Tomb's most deceptive feature. Green guessed that to reach the depths of the tomb, one probably had to remain in the first chamber and activate the rotating mechanism, letting it carry the chamber inward until it connected with other passageways and chambers. Whether that route would be safe at first or even more dangerous, he could not say. He had no intention of testing it. Instead, he found another way in.
