The Angel Rota's First Battle (1)

Martinez was stunned. He had never imagined anyone could detect him in this state, let alone charge straight at him and hack with such ferocity.

Shocked and furious, Martinez retreated with incredible speed, but he still failed to dodge the blade completely. It sliced away a mass of viscous blood, though he hardly counted such a loss as an injury.

He withdrew more than ten meters and looked at his attacker. His pupils contracted sharply. It was a female Angel with a pair of Black Wings!

But as an Undead, Martinez had an extraordinary sensitivity to his own kind. Although the Angel before him was not brimming with the aura of death, he was certain she was an Undead creature.

Rota's first strike had missed, so she pressed the attack at once. Her Dual Swords danced as she hurtled toward Martinez. One sword stabbed straight into the red protective Light Screen surrounding him. Without a sound, the blade pierced it with ease. The screen shuddered again and again, as though struggling desperately to stop her, but to no avail. Then her other longsword, wreathed in black lightning, swept across. With a pop, it split the screen open.

Martinez's protective Light Screen flared with blinding red light, then vanished completely.

But it had bought Martinez half a second. His figure split in two, and an identical human shape appeared before him. He swept out a hand, stirring up a spray of blood that quickly condensed into a huge crimson palm and seized the lightning sword Rota had thrust forward.

In an instant, the viscous blood collided with the lightning blade. The impact erupted like a bomb, bursting with a thunderous boom and driving them apart.
