Acaroline was miserable. She had only just escaped one monster's clutches, only to fall into the hands of someone even more ruthless.

She could tell that the towering Black-Winged Angel before her meant every word. If he said he would kill her unless she found the Arm of the Machine God, he would show her no mercy when the time came.

Feeling death close in, Acaroline no longer dared to stall or make things up.

Phillips and Volga were fighting a Metal Dragon not far away, but Acaroline knew perfectly well that it was not the Arm of the Machine God itself.

The Death Angel before her clearly knew that too. He had told her to find the real Arm of the Machine God, leaving her no room to bluff.

After everything she had suffered, Acaroline did not dare slack off. She immediately put all her strength into sensing her surroundings.

The nearby Metal Dragon might not be the Arm of the Machine God itself, but the real thing was probably not far away. The dragon existed to protect it, after all.

More than ten minutes passed without a movement from Acaroline. She simply stood there with her eyes closed, like a monk deep in meditation.

Green was patient. He did not press her, merely waited in silence.

Green had originally wanted to bring Jeanette, the Glasses Woman, instead. Recently, however, she had been working with Professor Arkansas to link her abilities to the Alchemy Computer and enable them to share data and intelligence.

Once that work was complete, it would undoubtedly mark a milestone for Green's Undead Army.

So Green had left Jeanette where she was, used the Abyss Club's intelligence instead, and taken the opportunity to get Acaroline under his control.
