"Excellent, Komo! How are things on your end?" General George Wei sounded anxious. Losing contact so suddenly, then being summoned by the Emperor, had clearly left him worried.
"Rest assured, sir. Everything has gone according to plan so far. We've reached the Death Divine Kingdom," Major General Como said gravely. "The Airship ran into some trouble, though. It's being repaired."
"Good. This Death Divine Kingdom was left behind when the God of Death fell. It's full of danger, so be careful and make absolutely sure you complete the mission His Majesty entrusted to you," General George Wei said sternly.
"Yes, sir! I'll complete the mission." Major General Como snapped to attention and saluted, his eyes filled with unwavering resolve.
He knew this was the most important opportunity of his life.
If he completed this mission, he would earn His Majesty the Emperor's favor. Then both he and his family could rise another step. At the very least, they could gain the title of Count. They might even have a chance at becoming Marquis.
