In the empty study, Grand Duke Morris took a deep breath and looked at the parcel and faintly glowing orb in his hands. Alongside his relief, a trace of unease crept in.

He had many questions. He had long suspected that Emperor Kronwell had never died, but without confirmation, he had still harbored doubts.

Only when Emperor Kronwell appeared before him just now had he finally become certain.

Then there was the question of what the little leather bag contained. What could be important enough for Emperor Kronwell to appear in person and ask him to deliver it to a priest of the Holy Light Church? Who was that priest, and what was going on behind the scenes?

Grand Duke Morris desperately wanted to open the bag and take a look, but... he did not dare!

He swallowed and immediately put the little bag inside a larger one. He looked away, doing his best to control himself.

Reason told him that he must never open it. If he did, he would surely die a terrible death.

Yet the bag seemed to exert a strange pull on him, stirring his curiosity again and again.

"Damn it! Harris, get a grip. It'll cost you your life!" Grand Duke Morris kept warning himself. But he did not dare let the bag out of his sight, so he could only endure the torment and wait for nightfall.

Now he wished he could deliver the thing at once.

A few hours later, night had fallen over the capital of the Divine Eagle Empire.

Alone in his study, Grand Duke Morris checked the time. It was about right. He took out the glowing orb, put on a hooded robe, and walked straight out.

The servants in the grand duke's residence could not see him at all.
