Hundreds of students had been killed, their flesh and souls offered as sacrifices, and even the powerful figures at the Kingdom's heart had been alerted. The King was furious, and the Prime Minister had intervened, plunging all of Landon City into a rare spell of peace.

Over the past few days, Green had tried to contact Old One-Eye to buy more cannons, but he had been unable to find him. He could only give up for the time being and instead meditate and train every day, steadily strengthening his mental power and advancing his magic.

Lola had visited again yesterday and brought someone with her. Green knew the man too: he was Agent Peter from the Anomalies Bureau. Green was puzzled as to how the two had become involved with each other, until Lola's introduction made everything clear. Peter was actually her cousin. Their mothers were sisters, one of whom had married into the Claudi Lineage and the other into the Heathrome Lineage.

Heathrome was Peter's surname, and an ancient noble name in the Lorenzo Kingdom. By Peter's generation, however, the lineage had declined considerably. Otherwise, given his abilities, experience, and family background, he would not have been approaching thirty while wasting his years in the Anomalies Bureau of a backwater like Landon City.

Even after learning of Peter's relationship with Lola, Green still wondered why he had come to see him. To be honest, their cooperation at Minster Academy had been far from pleasant, and Deputy Director Starks's niece probably hated Green to death.

Yet, completely beyond Green's expectations, Peter had come to invite him to join the Anomalies Bureau!
