But seeing it did them little good. They could not understand its many complex and bizarre structures.

It was like asking boxing champion Tyson to decipher the circuitry of a computer motherboard. The gods were formidable, but they were far from all-knowing and all-powerful.

Before long, all three of those mighty figures were staring at it cross-eyed.

The only expert among them was the Mechanical God, who at least knew something about alchemy and technology.

Unfortunately, since the other gods had beaten him nearly to death, the Mechanical God had lost much of his knowledge in those fields. His entire technological system had collapsed.
