The carriage rolled at an unhurried pace down Landon Street. Suddenly it jolted, horses whinnied, and it lurched to a stop.
Green frowned. Before he could ask the driver what had happened, a violent wave of Psychic Energy swept over him. It came from City Hall, and its power far exceeded anything he had imagined. A tremendous explosion followed, then rolling thunder.
Green hurriedly leaned out of the carriage and looked toward City Hall.
The sky had been clear a moment ago, but now clouds churned and winds howled above City Hall. Unlike the last strange attack on the building, this time a thick pillar of white light shot up from within. It smashed through the tiled roof of City Hall's tallest spire and soared into the sky, as though it reached into the distance and opened a passage beyond the void.
Green's heart sank. An instant later, an aura he recognized—but magnified countless times over—came through the pillar of light.
He had sensed that aura from the Yin Spirit Parasite, and it had left a deep impression on him. Now it shocked him even more. It's the aura of the Void Yin Spirit! Not one of its divided parasites—this is the Void Yin Spirit itself. Is it about to descend?
Cold sweat broke out across Green's skin at the thought. He had no idea what level of existence the Void Yin Spirit was, but he knew that if it descended upon Landon City, it would bring an unimaginable disaster. Landon City might even be wiped off the map.
Summon the Void Yin Spirit! That was why the Tower of Yin Spirits was founded. But I wiped out those lunatics, so why... Green fell silent for a moment. *I see. The Tower of Yin Spirits was nothing but a smokescreen.
