"Your Majesty, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! The sealed Divine Kingdom has been unsealed." Anubis cried out as he watched the pillar of light shoot into the sky. "You need only accept it, and you can become a god!"
Green remained unmoved. He gazed into the towering pillar of light, showing no interest in Anubis's suggestion.
"Your Majesty?" Anubis called, his eyes full of hope. He seemed eager for Green to accept the Divine Kingdom sealed within the Nightmare Kingdom.
But the next moment, Anubis screamed, his face contorting in agony.
"No! Your Majesty! What are you doing? Why are you punishing me?" Anubis shrieked.
Green had invoked his authority to punish Anubis. A single thought was enough to make him feel as though ten thousand arrows had pierced his heart.
Green watched impassively as Anubis doubled over and fell to his knees. "Do I need to tell you why I'm punishing you?" he asked coldly.
"I..." Anubis's eyes darted about. At last, he lowered his head in defeat and begged, "Your Majesty, please forgive me. I won't deceive you again!"
Fighting through the pain, Anubis pleaded for mercy again and again.
Almost everything he had just said was true. As a Lesser God, he theoretically could not deceive Green.
But an inability to deceive did not mean he could not manipulate. Anubis had been trying to steer Green into accepting the Wild God Legacy released when the Nightmare Kingdom was unsealed.
The Wild Gods belonged to the ancient Wild God Pantheon, which was incompatible with Anubis's own pantheon. Once Green accepted the Wild God Clan's Legacy, the bond between master and servant would dissolve automatically.
Green had only just received the Legacy and would certainly be unable to adapt to Wild God Power at once. Once their bond was
