Major Quares had absolute confidence in his abilities. As the youngest Formal Rank Paladin among the Holy Crusaders, his talent was beyond question. Yet now he began to wonder if his nerves were playing tricks on him.

Meanwhile, Green ordered the Devil Vine to retreat ten meters underground and stop spying on the Holy Crusaders who had arrived as reinforcements. He was worried about their strength. Green also recalled the Undead Troops under his command. With Peter Pan thoroughly dead, Green Castle Manor had lost its value. There was no reason to clash head-on with the Holy Crusaders here, especially when a Formal Rank Paladin had come with them. Unless necessary, Green had no desire to tangle with fanatics who clung like dogskin plasters.

His gaze swept over Lola, and his pupils contracted slightly at the sight of her Anomalies Bureau uniform. Then he saw the others, especially the unlucky Holy Crusader whose leg had been crushed, and his expression grew uglier still. "What happened here? Where are the bastards from the Nature Church?"

Before the four Holy Crusaders could answer, Green strolled down the stairs.

Green had already cleaned his Anomalies Bureau uniform with magic. The Captain's insignia on his shoulders gleamed gold. Though he was one rank below Major Quares, the Anomalies Bureau and the Holy Crusaders belonged to separate chains of command. Besides, the Holy Crusaders were the private army of the church and the king, and in legal standing they ranked below
