Ch. 881Backup Plan

Plot points and events

  • Modi’s disappearance and the possible discovery of a passage to another world shock Green and Grand Duke Mora. Mora realizes Green is far more capable than he assumed and revives his plan to search for the passage.
  • Since Modi and Hercules have vanished and nobody—including Zeus and the Goddess of the Light of Wisdom—knows where the passage is, Green agrees that Mora should recruit more allies and resources.
  • Green cannot reach Zeus or the Goddess of Wisdom. Fearing their disappearance signals the start of the reset, he decides not to wait: he orders Black Claw to prioritize a Void Battleship and directs Lisa to increase Void Milk production.
  • Green’s new ship is an emergency Strategic Cruiser, built before the team has gained the experience they wanted. It may serve as a means of escape if they cannot find the passage.
  • As a last resort, Green and Mora could use Void Milk to become Demigods, take the ship beyond the Void World’s boundary, and try to evade the reset. The plan is extremely dangerous, with uncertain prospects and a high risk of death.
  • The Undead Empire mobilizes its factories and resources at full capacity. Queen Xiweina Ye sends most of the kingdom’s mages to work on the shipyard, enforcing their labor harshly.
  • Meanwhile, news of Zeus’s and the Goddess of Wisdom’s disappearance spreads through the Titan World and the Church of the Light of Wisdom, causing panic among leaders who know about “Them” and the threat of erasure.

Character developments and interactions

  • Green moves from seeking a secret passage to preparing multiple survival options. His anger at being treated as expendable data sharpens into determination and practical action.
  • Grand Duke Mora shifts from assuming he was rescuing Green to recognizing Green’s strength. He becomes a proactive ally, choosing urgent cooperation over secrecy.
  • Black Claw doubts that building a Strategic Cruiser immediately is technically wise, but obeys Green and commits to doing the best possible work.
  • Xiweina Ye takes direct control of the labor effort. Though she suppresses resistance brutally, she avoids killing workers because every person is needed.
  • Green keeps Muleisina and Xiweina Ye occupied with tasks rather than trying to comfort them, while his repeated attempts to contact Zeus and the Goddess of Wisdom go unanswered.

Significant themes

  • Survival through adaptation: Green abandons the original plan when circumstances change, preparing both a search effort and a dangerous fallback.
  • Fear of powerlessness and resistance to erasure: Green refuses to accept that “They” can decide his fate without resistance.
  • Urgency and sacrifice: The empire’s resources, workers, and normal priorities are subordinated to survival.
  • Uncertainty: Neither the passage nor escape beyond the Void offers a reliable guarantee, and even the supercomputer cannot predict the outcome.

Ch. 882New Hope

Key plot points and events

  • As the Void’s collapse approaches, fear and disorder spread throughout its worlds. The Divine Eagle Empire’s leaders gather in despair, unable to prevent the coming catastrophe.
  • A mysterious man calling himself Mr. Rand offers Titans and New Gods a chance to survive the Void’s restart. Each group gets only ten places, and the survivors must sign a lifelong contract to guard the world’s treasure. Competition for the places ignites renewed wars among both groups, and violence spreads across the Void.
  • Green’s territories are attacked, but his resources help him withstand the pressure. Elsewhere, doomsday cults and separatist movements flourish.
  • Emperor Simdo yields peripheral territory by granting Fiefdoms, then ruthlessly crushes later rebels. This combination of concession and force secures the empire’s heartland and binds the new Fiefdoms into a loose alliance.
  • With the Lord of Light gone, the Holy Light Church begins to fall apart. Pontiff Saint Fran and Archbishop Link preserve some of its forces and territories, abandon its old name and faith, and reorganize it as the Revolutionary Party, taking over much of the Revolutionary Army’s cause while its leaders are missing.
  • Green’s first imitation Strategic Cruiser, New Hope, is completed. Though smaller than Red Queen, it is faster and more powerful. Before it can begin its trials, alarms announce an approaching swarm of hostile, jellyfish-like Void creatures. The shipyard, both cruisers, and thousands of Insect Race Wyverns prepare to defend themselves.

Character developments and interactions

  • Simdo proves pragmatic and decisive: he accepts limited losses to protect the empire’s core, but uses overwhelming force against those who threaten it.
  • Saint Fran and Link adapt to the Church’s collapse by turning its surviving organization into a revolutionary movement. Their takeover gives the disorganized Revolutionary Army a possible new center, though some distrust them.
  • Green remains focused on his own preparations, reacting with surprise to the Church’s transformation but prioritizing the completion of his fleet.
  • The Titans and New Gods, driven by fear and competition, turn against one another rather than cooperating. Their conflicts echo the wider breakdown of order.

Significant themes

  • Desperation breeds violence: Even a supposed route to survival becomes a cause of war when hope is scarce.
  • Collapse and reinvention: Institutions lose their foundations, then either fragment or transform to survive.
  • Pragmatism amid catastrophe: Simdo’s territorial retreat and Green’s hurried shipbuilding show different efforts to preserve what remains.
  • Hope under threat: New Hope represents progress and survival, but its launch is immediately interrupted by a new danger.

Ch. 883Biochemical Virus

Key plot points and events

  • As Void Creatures become more active, a vast swarm of Void Jellyfish attacks Green’s Void Dockyard. Green’s defenses include the Red Queen, the New Hope, dockyard turrets, and more than 100,000 heavily upgraded Wyverns.
  • The battle turns into a costly struggle. Black Claw deploys self-destruct drones, and after half an hour the defenders destroy the swarm—but lose over 100,000 drones and two-thirds of the Wyvern force. The two Strategic Cruisers survive unharmed.
  • Green accepts the losses as necessary to protect the dockyard. He orders a second dockyard built and wants Black Claw focused on producing Strategic Cruisers, aiming to have at least ten before leaving the Void.
  • Freya reports that a powerful Zombie Virus is spreading rapidly through the Main World and cannot be contained. Green suspects it may be the work of the hidden Third-Party Faction opposed to “Them,” possibly connected to the Lord of Light’s death.

Character developments and interactions

  • Green remains focused on his larger plans, treating the dockyard’s losses as an acceptable cost. Though he has previously refused to cooperate with the secretive Third-Party Faction, the virus makes him reconsider whether they are now openly challenging their enemies.
  • Black Claw, commanding the dockyard, commits the drone reserve when the battle worsens. Green plans to relieve him of defense duties so he can concentrate on shipbuilding.
  • Freya, now leading intelligence operations in the Main World, informs Green of the outbreak through their Soul Link.
  • Green and the Third-Party Faction remain wary of one another: Green distrusts their secrecy and fears betrayal, despite their apparent opposition to a common enemy.

Significant themes

  • Survival at any cost: Green is willing to sacrifice vast forces to preserve the dockyard and advance his plans.
  • Industrial power and its limits: Advanced weapons and seemingly abundant drones can shift a battle, but enormous resource demands and overwhelming numbers still take their toll.
  • Distrust and shifting alliances: A shared enemy does not guarantee trust; the Third-Party Faction’s new, more direct action may change Green’s judgment.
  • Uncertainty amid catastrophe: The Zombie Virus contradicts Green’s understanding of the coming reset, suggesting that forces beyond his knowledge are changing the stakes.

Ch. 884Zombies Run Rampant

Key plot points and events

  • The Zombie Virus spreads rapidly across the Void World. Plague Zombies begin evolving into increasingly powerful Advanced Zombies, including Calamity-Rank fighters.
  • The virus reaches Green’s Mist World when a vial falls through a Portal into a remote Orc settlement. Green’s forces destroy the infected tribe, but a thousand-strong Full-Mecha force led by a Legendary fighter disappears soon afterward.
  • Taking the threat seriously, Green orders Penny to withdraw from remote territory and establish layered defenses around the Core Industrial Zone. His priority is to protect the facilities needed to complete and equip the Strategic Cruisers before relocating production aboard them.
  • The outbreak worsens across the Main World. More than half its territory and over two-thirds of its nations fall within days; the Divine Eagle Empire is among the few still resisting.
  • A Saint Spirit Rank Plague Zombie appears. Emperor Kronwell drives one back but is badly wounded. Pontiff Saint Fran is nearly killed by a stronger one, and Archbishop Link saves him.

Character developments and interactions

  • Green initially treats the virus as manageable because his undead, mechanical forces, and armored soldiers are resistant to infection. The vanished force changes his assessment: he becomes cautious, orders a strategic retreat, and suspects a powerful, ambitious enemy is involved.
  • Penny questions Green’s unexpectedly defensive order but understands its purpose and pledges to carry it out without hesitation.
  • Emperor Kronwell personally fights a Saint Spirit Rank Zombie, showing the severity of the crisis at the cost of a serious injury.
  • Pontiff Saint Fran is also gravely hurt in battle; Archbishop Link intervenes to save him.
  • Emperor Simdo, Kronwell, Fran, and Link gather in the Imperial Palace, their injuries and grim expressions reflecting how dire the situation has become.

Significant themes

  • Escalating catastrophe: The zombies evolve so quickly that familiar defenses and victories may soon be meaningless.
  • Strategic survival over territory: Green is willing to abandon outlying lands to preserve vital industry and prepare for a future retreat.
  • Leadership amid uncertainty: No single enemy leader can be eliminated to stop the virus, leaving survivors to face a threat that is both decentralized and rapidly growing.
  • Fear of divine absence: With no Deities remaining in the Void World, the possibility of a Demigod-level zombie threatens humanity with total disaster.

Ch. 885Mr. X

Plot points and events

  • Emperors Simdo and Kronwell, Saint Fran, and Link discuss the rapidly spreading Plague Zombie outbreak. They believe the Void World may have no functioning countries within six months, and the vanished Deities offer no help.
  • Their search for a passage to another world has stalled. Grand Duke Mora has found no sign of the route, and Kronwell warns they need an alternative.
  • A mysterious man appears on a screen, calls himself “Mr. X,” and claims the virus serves a campaign against a company responsible for the world. He offers to keep the four alive through the coming cataclysm if they become his agents and later sabotage the company’s game world.
  • Seeing little chance of survival otherwise, the four sign his Contracts. After Mr. X leaves, Kronwell reveals he knew they were gone; Link then contacts Mora to report the encounter.

Character developments and interactions

  • Simdo’s confidence in the empire’s power has given way to helplessness as its strength proves useless against the crisis.
  • Saint Fran, now dressed as an ordinary civilian after the Church became the Revolutionary Party, admits that the movement is struggling to cope with the outbreak.
  • Kronwell takes the lead in the discussion, questions Mr. X, and brokers the group’s response. His final remark suggests he anticipated or monitored the stranger’s departure.
  • The four act together, weighing the danger of becoming pawns against the near certainty of death if they refuse. Link’s report to Mora keeps their wider alliance informed.

Significant themes

  • Powerlessness and lost faith: Human leaders realize that their authority—and even their former resentment of the Deities—cannot protect them.
  • Survival at a moral cost: The Contracts offer a chance to live, but bind the four to a risky, apparently one-way mission.
  • Manipulation and uncertain truth: Mr. X frames the disaster as someone else’s responsibility while recruiting the survivors as weapons in a larger conflict.

Ch. 886The Last Dignity and a New Journey

Key plot points and events

  • As the Void World faces an imminent threat from “Them,” its leaders attempt to use a third power to resist. Grand Duke Mora warns Green that the plan has gone wrong and tells him to leave immediately.
  • In the Divine Eagle Empire’s ruined capital, a mysterious suited man—an agent of “Them”—overpowers Emperor Kronwell, Simdo, Saint Fran, Link, Grand Duke Mora, Modi, and Xiweina Ye. His attacks erase people and places as streams of data.
  • Xiweina Ye dies after reaching Link; Link and Saint Fran then sacrifice themselves to activate a spell that seals the palace. Kronwell, Simdo, and Mora use the delay to deploy a program logic Bomb supplied by Mr. X. The Bomb destroys the suited man, though it cannot save the Void World.
  • Green launches his worst-case evacuation plan. His fleet is rushed into readiness, including four Strategic Cruisers and six Void Ships converted by the Insect Race into transports.
  • With the Void World rapidly being “formatted” and less than three months remaining, Green’s fleet departs the Mist World for the edge of the Void, beginning a dangerous voyage into Beyond the Void.

Character developments and interactions

  • Green moves from uncertainty to decisive leadership. Despite the unfinished fleet, scarce supplies, and the loss of his home and Graveyard, he commits to carrying the survivors’ hopes forward.
  • Kronwell, Simdo, and Mora accept that victory is impossible but choose a final act of resistance, sacrificing themselves to kill one of their enemies. Mora’s last thought is a wish to see the world beyond.
  • Link mourns Xiweina Ye with a final kiss, then willingly stops resisting the data stream consuming him. His and Saint Fran’s last actions make the others’ counterattack possible.
  • Modi insists that revolution means renewal and unity, not destruction, even as his Revolutionary Flame fades.
  • Cyrabelle, once commanding and confident, voices her fear to Green; he reassures her that they will survive and find a new world.

Significant themes

  • Dignity in defeat: The Void World’s defenders cannot prevent catastrophe, but refuse to surrender without resistance.
  • Sacrifice and legacy: The fallen buy time and create a chance for others to continue, passing their hopes to Green’s fleet.
  • Survival through adaptation: Green’s improvised fleet and desperate plans show the cost of preparing for an unknown future.
  • Endings and new beginnings: The Void World’s destruction closes one era, while the fleet’s departure opens a perilous new journey.
