Captain John

For Captain John, this was one of the rare days when his emotions had swung so wildly.

He had not always been indifferent to everything, like a weary old man who spent every day drinking.

Sixteen years ago, he had been as full of spirit as Ye Mu was now, with a fearsome reputation across the seas.

Later, like most who joined the Rocks Pirates, he had been recruited under less than pleasant circumstances. But with Rocks's fierce ambition to rule the world and so many monstrous comrades around him, he had not felt particularly wronged.

Then came the day Rocks summoned them all and told them:

"I've found the power to rule this world. It's the legendary Ancient Weapon, Uranus, hidden in God Valley, where the Celestial Dragons live. Once we have it, the world will belong to the Rocks Pirates. So who among you will join me in taking the throne and ruling this world?"

Apart from that oddity Newgate, most of those who became Rocks's crew harbored extraordinary ambitions.

And so the assault on God Valley began.

John still could not forget that battle.

That day, the Rocks Pirates' attack on God Valley was unstoppable. The Marines had no time to send reinforcements, and the CP0 agents and guards protecting the Celestial Dragons were no match for the monsters of the Rocks Pirates.

That day, the throne of the world seemed within the Rocks Pirates' grasp.

But then something happened that no one could have expected.
