The New World, the endpoint of the entire Grand Line and the place toward which all the Log Poses ultimately pointed, was Water Star Island. Just as its name suggested, it was a navigational island that represented both an ending and a new beginning.
Seen from above, the entire island looked like an arrow split in half. A bottomless chasm lay between the two sides, with turbulent seawater rushing through it, while both halves were covered in dense vegetation and ferocious beasts like prehistoric islands.
The shape of the island seemed to be openly telling everyone that this was not the end of everything. The true journey had only just begun.
That very morning, pirates from all sides had gathered, bringing the Log Poses that recorded the true destination: Laugh Tale. After exchanging them, the alliance formed for this goal did not immediately disband. As if they shared an unspoken understanding, everyone continued to tacitly acknowledge the alliance's existence.
The reason was simple. The enemies they were about to face could not be handled by any single pirate crew or alliance alone, whether it was the Navy and the World Government's interference, the alliance between the Beasts Pirates and the Big Mom Pirates, or the scheming Blackbeard Pirates.
None of those three forces could be faced by any single faction within this enormous alliance, regardless of which one it was.
Leaving aside the others, just consider their most important competitors at present—the Beasts Pirates and the Big Mom Pirates. Among the entire alliance, only Douglas Bullet and Hawkeye Mihawk could deal with Kaido and Charlotte Linlin, those two monsters among monsters. As for everyone else, they would be no match for them in a real fight.
As Bullet put it, "You little brats are too green!"
