"Twenty percent!" The young man hesitated. The odds weren't high, but they weren't zero either. It was an awkward gamble: hardly worth taking, yet hard to pass up.
While he was still mulling it over...
At the shore.
A huge sphere of light appeared between Kid and Enel, with Electromagnetic Force surging through it.
"Go!"
They shouted together and sent the sphere into the sea.
At once, an eerie sight appeared beneath the waves.
There was no deafening noise or violent disturbance. Everything stayed strangely calm. But when the two saw what the sphere had done, neither could remain calm.
The instant it touched the water, an empty space opened in the sea. The sphere had erased the water there, yet the surrounding sea did not rush in to fill the gap.
Neither understood it. Only after the Electromagnetic Force faded did the surrounding water flow back into the empty space.
Waves slapped against the shore, as though nothing had happened.
"Dissolved? No, that's not it," Enel murmured. What he had just seen was beyond anything he understood.
If the water had merely dissolved, the sea around it should have filled the gap at once, not waited until the Electromagnetic Force disappeared.
"If that hit a person...!"
Enel and Kid exchanged a look. They saw the same shock in each other's eyes, followed by wild excitement.
This move would make them considerably stronger. Combining electricity and magnetism produced far more than the sum of its parts. And as they developed their Devil Fruit Abilities further, their Electromagnetic Force would only grow stronger.
"Let's go ask the captain. He'll know," Kid said.
He had a suspicion, but he could not be sure. It concerned a field he had barely explored.
"Damn... What power! And what a strange ability!" The young man
