Time limit: 5 minutes.
In Aeneas's mind, the five-minute countdown began to tick down continuously, while Aeneas felt his own changes.
The present him had completely lost all reverence for fear; with a slight tilt of his head, he thought how ridiculous it was that he had been so terrified just a moment ago, leaving only a profound and restrained calm within him like an ancient, stagnant well.
Aeneas stood up and looked at Vergo. Standing at one meter and eleven centimeters tall facing a two-meter adult, his imposing aura was nonetheless not the least bit lacking.
"What is going on here!" Vergo frowned slightly, not knowing what had happened to Aeneas, but the next moment he made his move directly. "No matter what has happened, I think the young master will probably be very interested in this kid!"
Vergo's body vanished.
"Soru again?" Aeneas watched Vergo, who had disappeared from his field of vision, but as he closed his eyes, Vergo shone and burned as brightly as the sun within his pitch-black conscious perception.
"This is simply too easy!" Aeneas's body seemed to cross through afterimages as his left arm, which had been hanging down a moment earlier, instantly appeared at the outer side of his left ear.
Moreover, a fraction of a second later, Vergo's Tekkai and Black Leg smashed down fiercely.
"What?" Vergo felt as though he had just kicked a slab of Seastone, yet his eyes clearly saw an eight-year-old child.
How did he pull this off?
Vergo was filled with bewilderment, and the surrounding observing marines were equally shocked.
"What kind of monster is this kid?"
"Isn't he the son of that criminal from the Dunhold Family? Aeneas, was it?"
These marines had already dealt with the routed Arachne Pirates, and upon turning their heads, they saw a mere child blocking Mr. Vergo's Tekkai attack—their expressions were even more shocked than Vergo's.
Because they were marines themselves, they naturally had some understanding of the Navy Six Powers—that was a type of physical technique mastered only by high-ranking navy officers, a body art that surpassed the limits of human physical endurance.
Furthermore, it required rigorous training to acquire, though there were also a tiny handful of people who could grasp the knack after seeing it just once!
Vergo was precisely such a case. Although he was still only a major, his talent for the Six Powers was extremely high; after joining the navy three years ago, he had rapidly risen to the rank of major, and by now he had mastered who knew how many of the Navy Six Powers. His overall strength was unfathomable, and every time he faced an enemy, he could quickly resolve the opponent!
Besides, at this rate of development, Vergo would soon continue to raise his rank to reach the officer-general level, and then be transferred to Marine Headquarters, where his strength would scale to even greater heights!
Yet who was Aeneas?
Just a wet-behind-the-ears brat; by what possible virtue could he block a strike from Vergo?
Aeneas gently flicked his left arm, yet Vergo actually felt a terrifying vibration beneath his feet, instantly blasted flying a hundred meters away by an impact force. Vergo quickly regained his composure, his feet rapidly stepping on the air in the sky to produce pop-pop sounds as his entire body managed to cushion himself mid-air.
"Geppo, is it?" Aeneas watched Vergo "walking" through the air. "You've mastered three of the Six Powers?"
Then Aeneas looked at the ample remaining time, experiencing the changes in his own strength.
"Super-fast reaction capability, or you could even call it precognition coupled with ultimate reflex speed." Aeneas looked at his own hands. "Because even if I can perceive the direction of Vergo's attack, it would be utterly useless if my own reaction speed weren't fast enough!"
Just now, Aeneas had foreseen the direction of Vergo's advance in advance, even raising his left arm to parry a step ahead of Vergo.
"The defensive power is also absurdly strong!" Aeneas exclaimed repeatedly, because he could not feel any bodily pain whatsoever, yet judging from Vergo's violent reaction, he was now completely different!
"Is this the power of One-Punch Man?" Aeneas wanted to continue testing his abilities. "Though it's temporary, let me indulge in the thrill of being invincible! Hahaha—"
Aeneas laughed wildly and foolishly for a spell before stopping abruptly, smiling faintly as he looked at Vergo in the sky.
"Super-speed movement!"
Aeneas's body suddenly vanished, leaving behind countless afterimages on the ground and in the sky with a terrifyingly fast speed. The current him had not mastered the technique of Geppo, so Aeneas could not walk through the air like Vergo, but his astonishing leaping power and velocity made up for this weakness.
Because Vergo simply could not react in time.
"Normal Punch!"
Aeneas sprang directly into the air, leaping onto Vergo's head, and delivered a punch straight at Vergo, who was still staring at the afterimages on the ground.
"Boom!"
"Crack!"
Following a sonic boom, Vergo's body was instantly compressed and elongated; a moment ago he was in the sky a hundred meters high, and the next moment he was slammed deep into a crater over a dozen meters below the ground.
The surrounding earth cracked directly, cobweb-like fissures spreading across the entire Goldfish Port, but the shockwave did not stop there, surging toward the ocean outside Goldfish Port before forming visible huge waves that battered outward into the distance!
"Hiss—"
Everyone wore expressions of sheer terror, staring at Aeneas as if looking at a demon! A monster!
"He's not human, what kind of creature is he!"
Watching their superior beaten to a pulp, these marines instantly lost the will to continue fighting, yet constrained by orders they did not completely flee in panic either, or else even if they survived they would be hunted down—because their respective families were still living under the protection of the navy.
If they backed down, their entire families would suffer.
"Mr. Vergo!" A captain immediately started shoveling dirt and digging out rocks, jumping down into the deep crater to lift Vergo up. "Are you alright?"
Vergo's body had reached its limit, and the piercing pain wracking his frame made it impossible for him even to stand.
"Huff, huff—"
Breathing heavily, Vergo endured the pain to brush the captain's arm aside, then leaped up to half-kneel upon the shattered ground.
Taking advantage of the fact that the One-Punch Man experience time had not yet ended, Aeneas spared a moment to throw a few punches toward the sea surface, directly blasting out terrifying voids in the ocean.
"Even with the trial card, I actually haven't fully mastered this power!" Aeneas always felt that wielding this strength lacked smoothness. "It must be because my original body is simply too weak. If I were strong enough, I could further unleash the power of the trial card!"
According to Aeneas's preliminary estimate, his current strength was already fully capable of rivaling or even surpassing a Marine Headquarters vice admiral, weaker Shichibukai, and certain formidable pirates with bounties exceeding one hundred million.
"I just don't know how I'd stack up against figures at the admiral and Yonko levels; it still feels a bit lacking."
Saitama's power was wielded far more thoroughly and perfectly than Aeneas's current self could manage, and it was certainly not something Aeneas could cash out in a mere five-minute trial.
