He even wanted to break his promise and abandon all honor by launching a sneak attack on Blackbeard Teach! But he quickly dismissed the thought.

There were two reasons!

First, Ace's wedding was about to begin. He did not want to miss such an important moment in his grandson's life because of his own actions!

Second, Blackbeard was not alone here. Every member of the Blackbeard Pirates was aboard this ship! These were all pirates with bounties starting at 500 million. Even if he severely wounded Blackbeard, he would have a hard time escaping unscathed against so many people working together!

And if Blackbeard suffered severe injuries, given his vengeful nature and Whitebeard's tendency to protect his own, there was no need to think further. The Whitebeard Pirates would certainly wage another war against Marine HQ!
