Kuina truly did not know what the original Kaku had been like, but she knew that the current Kaku wanted to kill them.
"Shigan!"
Kaku's gaze sharpened as he swiftly appeared before the man, driving his index finger into the man's chest.
The man fell at once, dying with his eyes still wide open.
CP9's mission rules permitted the killing of civilians who obstructed a mission.
"You! How could you really attack him?!"
Kuina stared in utter disbelief. That man had trusted him so much!
Kaku, however, did not care. He coldly looked at the others, who had been frightened by the scene, and said, "Get lost."
"You... Mr. Kaku, how could you..."
How could he kill someone?
Hadn't he once been the kindest person? Anyone with troubles could ask him for help, and he would not get angry even when others insulted him.
Who was this person now?
Kaku was about to turn toward Kuina when someone unexpectedly stepped in front of him again.
"You're not really Mr. Kaku, are you?! Who are you really?! Why are you pretending to be Mr. Kaku?!"
The man spread his arms wide, blocking Kaku's path.
Even though his arms had begun to tremble, he did not take a single step back.
Kaku frowned and raised his hand. Why had he never noticed that these people were so annoying?
Sure enough, after wearing a mask for so long, taking it off became somewhat difficult.
How could Kuina let Kaku make another move? She had already been on guard.
"Let's fight somewhere else!"
Kuina held her blade against Kaku's finger, staring at him coldly.
"What a fine sword. I never noticed before."
Kaku casually glanced at it. The blade was sleek and smooth, its edge incomparably sharp and gleaming with a faint silver light.
