The Ancient One had lived long enough to become very good at hiding her emotions.
After all, there was another possibility: Professor X might have decided not to make things difficult for Zhang Yang and simply withdrawn his Psychic Ability.
"Professor X." Once she had recovered from her shock, the Ancient One slowly spoke his name.
Professor X?
The name was unfamiliar to Zhang Yang. He looked at the Ancient One, curiosity written all over his face.
"Yes, Professor X. He's a Mutant professor." The Ancient One rose and clasped her hands behind her back. "You should know that besides superhumans, enhanced humans, and sorcerers, this world is home to another kind of powerful being: Mutants. They were an accident created by the Creator Gods."
"An accident?" Zhang Yang looked bewildered. He clearly did not understand what she meant.
"They're different from us. Mutants change because of genetic mutations. Each mutation gives them an ability, but only one. All they can do is hone that ability to its peak."
The Ancient One explained this to Zhang Yang.
To become the Sorcerer Supreme, one had to watch over everything on Earth.
And not just Earth. Everything in the Other-Dimensional Space needed watching over too.
The Ancient One thought it was time to tell Zhang Yang more about the world.
"So, Master, you're saying the person I just encountered was Professor X?" Zhang Yang asked.
"Yes. Professor X is a Mutant, and his power is Psychic Ability—an extraordinarily strong one. But it seems he held back against you just now," The Ancient One said.
He held back?
Zhang Yang was puzzled. "Master, why did he attack me?"
