Disarming the Formula

The sun dipped westward. Fugaku let out a soft breath. He had covered the table in the Secret Chamber with dense rows of Warning Formulas, identical to those on the table holding the Scroll of Seals.

From left to right and top to bottom, every row and column of formulas formed a layer of warning. Without a way to disarm them, disturbing any layer would cause enough commotion to alert the Ninja stationed outside.

He took out the Scroll on which he had copied the Four Symbols Seal and used its formulas to inscribe a method of disarming the warnings on the table.

By dusk, the table in the Secret Chamber was covered with two layers of formulas: warnings underneath and disarming formulas on top.

He formed hand signs in quick succession, then slammed his palm onto the center of the table.

Release.

The outer Disarming Formula sprang into motion, drawing the inner formulas along with it. They vanished one by one.

Several columns remained, however. The Warning Formulas had not been completely removed. Fugaku studied them carefully, added more markings, and erased the rest.

He let out a breath. Night had deepened. After removing every trace of his work from the Secret Chamber, he returned to his Bedroom and lifted the floorboards, exposing the passage below.

Fugaku slipped into the underground passage and vanished in an instant. Thanks to Pangolin's digging, it now branched in every direction, leading not only to several major Konoha clans but also to the homes of several Senior Officials and Elders.

Fugaku first went to the room where the Scroll of Seals was kept. He lifted the floorboards. Nothing inside had changed, including the Scroll's position. It seemed no one had studied it recently.
