The Death of Ito

The Elders Council had lost a member. Even without solid evidence, they would suspect Danzo and keep a close watch on him.

For a while, Danzo would pose little threat. Regaining his position as Root Leader would also be much harder.

A squad of Ninja approached in the distance. Two Ninja patrolled each side of the forest, while four more accompanied Elder Ito.

They had strengthened their defenses, but numbers meant nothing against Fugaku. Black mist drifted from his skin, and his body vanished.

Two Ninja leaped past him, one a masked ANBU and the other an ordinary Ninja. Fugaku followed close behind at an unhurried pace.

A sharp Kunai appeared in his hand. He slipped behind the ANBU and swept his hands forward, slashing across the man's throat in an instant.

A line of blood appeared on the ANBU's neck. He clutched his throat and tried to look back, but his strength drained away. A moment later, he fell from the tree.

A message appeared in Fugaku's mind:

Killed one Jonin. Gained a moderate amount of Pupil Power.

Noticing something wrong, the other Ninja turned toward the falling ANBU. A line of blood appeared across his throat as well.

Neither Ninja saw Fugaku before he died.

Black mist surged around Fugaku, keeping him invisible. He left the forest, appeared behind Ito's group, and formed hand signs.

"Wind Release: Vacuum Serial Waves!"

A massive Wind Blade formed and tore through the air toward the five of them. The two ANBU sensed the attack and spun around. Each grabbed one of Elder Ito's arms and pulled him clear.

The two ordinary Ninja reacted a beat too slowly. Both lost their lives.

The two Ninja patrolling the forest on the other side rushed out. They joined the two surviving ANBU
