The Battle Between the Tsuchikage and the Hokage

On the battlefield between Konoha and Iwagakure, the Third Hokage stood atop a boulder with his arms folded, gazing at Ōnoki in the sky.

Ōnoki's expression was equally grave as he formed hand signs.

"Earth Release: Earth Spear!"

"Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld!"

Several stone spikes burst from the boulder and shot straight at the Third Hokage.

The Third Hokage pushed lightly off the boulder and cleared it. The moment he landed, the ground beneath his feet softened, about to turn into a swamp.

Hiruzen Sarutobi remained calm. Unfazed by the swamp beneath him, he formed hand signs.

"Lightning Release: Earth Flow!"

Bolts of lightning spread from beneath his feet and raced through the Swamp of the Underworld. The swamp dispersed before it could fully form.

Hiruzen Sarutobi formed another set of hand signs.

"Water Release: Water Severing Wave!"

A high-pressure jet of water shot from the Third Hokage's mouth at tremendous speed, hurtling fiercely toward Ōnoki in the sky.

The Third Hokage formed hand signs again.

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"

A massive water dragon soared into the air behind the Water Severing Wave, opening its jaws to swallow Ōnoki.

Ōnoki shifted aside, dodged the Water Severing Wave, and formed hand signs.

"Wind Release: Tornado!"

Fierce winds sprang up around the water dragon and quickly formed a waterspout. Rain sprayed in every direction as the dragon was swept away from the Tsuchikage.

The exchange was brief, but the rapid shifts between ninjutsu were dazzling. The Third Hokage remained calm, his expression unchanged by Ōnoki's ability to fly.

Both men knew killing the other was nearly impossible. The war's outcome would depend on how their respective Ninja Corps performed.

Rumor had it that the Third Hokage could wield all Five Nature Transformations. His strength forced Ōnoki to be cautious.
