Jieyi's Death

Dark figures drew steadily closer to Kumogakure Camp through the forest.

Fugaku leaped out first. Eight kunai fitted with explosive tags flew from his hands in quick succession, each one aimed at a tent in the camp.

Explosions rang out across Kumogakure Camp, jolting the sleeping ninja awake.

"Enemy attack! Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

One Cloud shinobi's tent exploded. He shouted as he ran outside, but the moment he stepped toward the camp gate, he triggered an explosive tag buried beneath his feet.

Boom!

The blast sent severed limbs flying and sprayed blood in every direction.

The same scene played out across the camp. Ninja kept stepping on explosive traps, leaving nothing of their bodies behind.

Several tent roofs were slashed open, and figures leaped out through the gaps.

"Don't use the tent entrances! Explosive tags are planted there! Go through the roof!" a Cloud shinobi squad leader roared.

One ninja had barely landed after jumping from a roof when an explosion erupted beneath his feet. His body flew through the air, torn apart. He was dead before he hit the ground.

Figures appeared around the camp's perimeter. Standing atop a wooden structure, Fugaku called out, "I've buried explosive tags all over the camp. Attack from a distance and set the whole place ablaze. Force out every Cloud shinobi hiding in the tents."

Kunai bearing explosive tags flew into the camp. Explosions and screams followed as tent after tent caught fire, driving the ninja inside out into the open.

Every so often, another thunderous blast marked an explosive trap going off.

Several Konoha shinobi stepped forward and formed hand seals.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball!"

Fireballs burst from their mouths and struck the tents. Within moments, the tents were engulfed in roaring flames.

Fugaku's figure flickered in and out of sight.
