I'm posting through the mobile website right now. It's pretty bare-bones, and interacting with readers is a real hassle. Of course, that might partly be because I'm not very familiar with how it works.
First, I want to apologize to the readers who left comments. I can't answer a lot of your questions. It's not that I'm aloof; I just can't figure it out. I changed phone numbers, so I no longer use the phone linked to my author account. I can't log in to the writing app, and appealing it is too much trouble.
So I've been posting directly through the mobile website.
After nearly dying once, Guangtai realized he didn't actually want to die. He was only trying to hold on to the last shred of his pride. After seeing the real Wood Release, learning it gradually became an obsession for him.
Madara Uchiha's words, along with the incident involving the Uchiha Stone Tablet, also began to turn him against Fugaku.
Then Madara talked him into his plan. He didn't reveal the specifics of the final Eye of the Moon Plan, instead telling Guangtai that collecting the Tailed Beasts and reviving him would bring peace to the Shinobi World.
Guangtai wouldn't have to die, he could learn the real Wood Release, and he might even become a great Ninja one day. So his feelings changed quickly.
All of this was mentioned earlier, but I wanted to sum it up here so readers could understand how Guangtai changed.
He didn't change all at once. Madara's persuasion gradually worked on him, helped along by his own feelings and obsession.
