People bustled through the prosperous town. Urashiki walked slowly among them with a fish basket at his waist, his distinctive Byakugan drawing stare after stare.
Many people moved away from him. Since the Land of Lightning and the Land of Fire had signed the Treaty, true peace had come to the Shinobi World.
But the people of the Land of Lightning were not grateful to the Land of Fire. No one wanted peace bought through a treaty like that; their country had lost too much.
Those losses had cost the people a chance at greater prosperity. Now they could barely make ends meet.
The unmistakable Byakugan made most people take Urashiki for a member of Konoha's Hyuga clan. Unless he revealed his Rinnegan, there was little to distinguish him from one.
Just then, a squad of Kumogakure Ninja hurried over from the distance and blocked Urashiki's path.
"Konoha Ninja aren't welcome here. Leave the Land of Lightning at once, or we'll have to remove you by force."
Urashiki paused, amusement spreading across his face.
"What makes you think I'm from Konoha's Hyuga clan?"
The Kumogakure Ninja gave an incredulous laugh. "Your Byakugan is plain to see. In the entire Shinobi World, no one but Konoha's Hyuga clan has it."
"Heh. Now that's valuable intelligence. So Kaguya left descendants here."
Urashiki was clearly delighted. At the very least, the man's words proved he had come to the right place.
"Are you pretending we're not here? Konoha may be strong, but Kumogakure has built up plenty of strength over the years."
