"Was it one of the players in the top hundred of the Rankings? Or the effect of an Oddity?"
As he let out his anger, Xiao Wu gradually calmed down and began considering his next move.
He had already told his sister about the Fish Abyss Shelter. Now that someone else had gotten there first, things were complicated.
Xiao Wu stared at the name [Fish Abyss Shelter] on the Virtual Light Screen.
"You'd better not be too fragile. Hold on until I get there. Becoming my descendant is the best fate you could hope for."
Just then, an eyeless humanoid came up behind Xiao Wu and dropped to its knees.
"Great Lord of Blood, the Blood Slave Guard is ready and awaits the blessing of your blood-born will."
Xiao Wu turned and crossed the floor carpeted with fluorescent moss and glowing mushrooms, then stepped outside the Hideout.
A vast mine pit lay before him, with mining tunnels running around its edges.
This was only the outskirts of the Underdark.
Xiao Wu's Hideout occupied one of the mine tunnels. After leaving it, he stepped onto a rock platform.
Below the platform, dozens of Blood Slaves waited.
They, too, had no eyes. Their faces bore only mouths, nostrils, and a pair of batlike ears.
Their arms hung almost to their knees, and their long fingers ended in sharp claws.
These were the Underground Batfolk, a life-form unique to Xiao Wu's Underdark Civilization.
