Background and History
Yu Yuan chooses a concealed, dry space in an abandoned air-raid shelter between the city sewer and the surface. Confirming it as his Hideout creates a wall and wooden door and unlocks its management logs. He names it Fish Abyss Shelter, after his gaming nickname 1.
Its earliest improvements are basic: a worn-out door, sleeping mat, washing area, and candle lighting. Yu Yuan later seals an air-raid-shelter exit and builds a sandbag barrier against typhoon flooding 13 24. As threats grow, he adds an Escape Route, defensive facilities, laboratories, living areas, and food-production space 50 102 187 252.
After moving farming and breeding facilities to Giant Tree World, Yu Yuan reduces the Hideout from five levels to three. He intends it to serve as a private refuge and final reserve rather than the center of his wider operation 567.
Management and Defenses
Facility management
- The Facility Management Log provides construction and upgrade paths for systems including security, rest, water collection, ventilation, and bathrooms. Some improvements require earlier facility levels or discovered blueprints 2 11.
- Facility ratings track distinct needs such as safety, comfort, hygiene, energy, and defense. Safety depends in part on security, walls, ventilation, and water collection 13 50.
- Hideout editing, unlocked by the Gold-Grade expansion, lets Yu Yuan allocate space and rearrange facilities 187.
Security and concealment
- The air-raid-shelter passages provide a buffer between the Hideout and the sewer. Yu Yuan reinforces them with flood barriers, Flamethrowers, and traps 24 50 187.
- Later upgrades add multiple airlock doors, sealed and insulated walls, and environmental controls designed for extreme cold 252.
- Zhizhi’s concealment hides the Hideout’s location; during Xiao Wu’s invasion, the usual coordinate guide fails to appear 301 302.
Escape and subsidiary Safehouses
- An Escape Route connects the sewer Hideout to the Starry Sky Observatory, giving Yu Yuan another way in and out 102.
- A Gold-Grade Empty Room card can create a 1,000 m² subsidiary Hideout that shares the main Hideout’s management and editing functions. Yu Yuan later establishes one in the Inner Earth 187 453.
