Ch. 421Building the Mechanical Titan Base Unit and the Highly Efficient Titan Demolisher

Key plot points and events

  • Mona reports that the Sacrifice Ritual research has made progress, but Yu Yuan first focuses on deploying a Mechanical Titan Base Unit recovered from the Mechanical Vanguard Society’s command vehicle.
  • With its core device and remaining materials assembled, Yu Yuan builds the Epic-grade unit in Dead Mine Town, near the Civilization War Fortress and within the Thunder Shield turret’s protection.
  • The vehicle transforms into a stationary mechanical base. It cannot be retracted for 72 hours, and its systems show that one Titan Demolisher and one Titan Constructor are ready.
  • Yu Yuan releases the Titan Demolisher, programs it to process wrecked special-operations vehicles, and watches it scan, cut up, collect, and haul the scrap to the base’s furnace for smelting.
  • The work takes less than half an hour, leaving Yu Yuan confident that basic materials will no longer be scarce.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan demonstrates practical, forward-looking leadership: he establishes a secure industrial base and quickly tests its machinery on available wreckage.
  • Carmen, visiting this world for the first time with the returning Alpha Wolf, surveys the area and supports Yu Yuan’s plan to make it a military reserve base. The scale of the base unit leaves him speechless.
  • Mona appears through her message about the Sacrifice Ritual research, introducing a separate line of ongoing progress.

Significant themes

  • Turning defeat into opportunity: Yu Yuan benefits from the Mechanical Vanguard Society’s failed plans and repurposes its technology.
  • Industrial capability as power: The base’s automated demolition and smelting promise a steady supply of materials for future development.
  • Strategic preparation: Dead Mine Town’s terrain, resources, and defenses make it a promising military foothold.
  • Human ambition and advanced machinery: The transforming base and efficient Demolisher emphasize the scale and speed of mechanical technology.

Ch. 422Returning to Green Forest City: Mona's New Ritual

Plot points and events

  • The Mechanical Titan Base Unit processes vehicle wreckage into large quantities of material blocks, giving Yu Yuan the resources to develop Dead Mine Town’s mining operation.
  • Yu Yuan applies a machinery-efficiency program to the unit and orders five upgraded mining carts. He assigns Kuis to restart mining, send ore for processing, and rapidly build a fortified military base.
  • Yu Yuan also instructs Kuis and Carmen to put the town’s people through recruit training and template upgrades.
  • Back in Green Forest City, Yu Yuan learns that former Black Rock Trade Association and Council Alliance members have become Trained Recruits. Most of the more than two hundred prisoners brought in by the Alpha Wolf agree to enlist; those who refuse or deceive Carmen are sent to the Aurora Animal Assistance Society as experimental subjects.
  • The Pioneer Corps returns with every member having awakened the Elite Recruit template. Carmen plans a commendation ceremony and asks Yu Yuan to present awards and speak.
  • Yu Yuan visits the Aurora Animal Assistance Society to investigate Mona’s reported breakthrough. Mona and Jiu Feng have devised a revised Sacrifice Ritual combining ideas from the Spiritual Dimension Ritual and the Orthodox Church’s Exchange Sacrifice. They estimate an 80–95% chance of contacting the Spiritual Dimension, potentially overcoming the original ritual’s demanding requirements.

Character developments

  • Yu Yuan shifts from gathering resources to organizing military and industrial expansion, delegating Dead Mine Town’s construction and training to Kuis.
  • Kuis accepts responsibility for building the town’s defenses, securing minerals, and preparing its population.
  • Carmen continues to oversee recruitment and training, using her Insight talent to expose false cooperation.
  • Mona and Jiu Feng demonstrate growing ritual expertise by combining prior research into a promising new method.
  • The Pioneer Corps has advanced into an elite force, offering a striking example of the army’s progress.

Significant themes

  • Industrial self-sufficiency: Mining, smelting, and manufacturing are designed to create a cycle that can supply future military production.
  • Preparation for war: Resource extraction, fortress construction, training, and military recognition all support the approaching conflict.
  • Transformation through training: Former criminals and newcomers are reshaped into disciplined recruits, while the Pioneer Corps represents a higher level of advancement.
  • Experimentation and discovery: Mona and Jiu Feng’s work suggests that careful adaptation may overcome seemingly strict supernatural limitations.

Character interactions

  • Yu Yuan gives Kuis direct orders and entrusts him with Dead Mine Town’s development.
  • Carmen updates Yu Yuan on the recruit corps and coordinates the Pioneer Corps’ commendation.
  • Yu Yuan and Mona discuss her discovery, while Jiu Feng explains the ritual’s design and promising success rate. The chapter ends as Yu Yuan asks for a full explanation.

Ch. 423Bloodline-Origin Summoning Sacrifice Ritual: Obtaining High Vampire Genes?

Plot points and events

  • Jiu Feng and Mona explain a new ritual designed not to send participants into the Spiritual Dimension, but to summon a being from it into the physical world. They adapted the Orthodox Church’s sacrificial-exchange ritual and believe they can limit the target’s power by choosing the sacrifices.
  • The ritual uses a primary sacrifice to determine the bloodline or origin to summon from, while secondary sacrifices serve as payment and bait. However, the summoned being’s exact identity and form—true body, projection, or avatar—remain unpredictable. The group names it the Bloodline-Origin Summoning Sacrifice Ritual.
  • Yu Yuan accepts the risk because he needs to learn about Silver Tier beings and may soon be able to draw a Silver Tier Fate Card. He asks Miller about his Werewolf research.
  • Miller reports progress extracting Werewolf traits and exploring a heat-resistant Lava Werewolf serum, but notes that Werewolves’ aggression and tendency to lose control make them difficult to manage.
  • Yu Yuan and Miller agree that Vampire genes could help control Werewolf instincts—but using Low Vampire genes could leave the resulting Werewolves vulnerable to suppression by a High Vampire’s bloodline. They conclude that High Vampire genes are necessary.
  • Jiu Feng and Mona realize the ritual may offer a way to obtain those genes.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan weighs the danger of summoning a Spiritual Dimension being against the potential knowledge and resources it could provide. He also shows foresight about the long-term consequences of mixing bloodlines.
  • Jiu Feng and Mona demonstrate initiative and technical ingenuity by adapting two rituals, while acknowledging that their limited knowledge makes the outcome uncertain.
  • Miller shows expertise and caution, identifying both the practical problem of Werewolf instability and the genetic risk posed by Low Vampire blood.
  • Yu Yuan consults Miller, validates his concern, and shares his conclusion; the discussion leads Jiu Feng and Mona to connect their research need with the new ritual.

Significant themes

  • Risk versus advancement: The characters knowingly pursue a dangerous ritual for the chance to gain knowledge and power.
  • Limits of knowledge and control: The ritual’s target cannot be reliably predicted, and bloodline interactions may create future vulnerabilities.
  • Bloodline, inheritance, and dominance: Genetic traits can shape descendants’ behavior and determine how one lineage affects another.
  • Improvisation and unintended consequences: Combining existing ritual methods and genetic research creates opportunities, but also new dangers.

Ch. 424Returning to the hideout, the Electromagnetic Pulse Worm, and checking random secrets

Key plot points and events

  • The Aurora Animal Assistance Society makes the Bloodline-Origin Summoning Sacrifice Ritual its top priority, ahead of Pumiz Virus research, because it could create an Epic troop type combining Vampire dominion with Werewolf combat power.
  • Jiu Feng and Mona will refine the ritual, while Miller studies Vampire–Werewolf gene splicing using Blood Slave genes and tissue from Xiao Wu. Yu Yuan must provide both offerings: a Vampire player as the primary sacrifice and suitable bait as the secondary offering.
  • Yu Yuan decides that the Blood Brew Recipe, bearing the Blood Grand Duke’s Spirituality imprint, may attract a powerful Vampire. His Mystic talent protects him from the recipe’s corrupting influence.
  • After returning to the Hideout, Yu Yuan checks on the Automatic Writing Machine, which has accumulated several days’ worth of randomly written secrets. He also inspects the Hideout’s facilities and finds that the Electromagnetic Pulse Worm has finished absorbing electricity and can now move about.
  • The Hideout is progressing: mealworms are multiplying, vegetables are nearing harvest, and five ewes are close to giving birth. Speedsters in the treadmill generator have died, but replacements are in place.
  • Yu Yuan reviews the machine’s output. Most entries are trivial, but the fifth passage catches his attention: “Frost Wraith · Wendigo.”

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan shifts from planning the summoning ritual to identifying valuable bait, showing strategic ambition and confidence in his ability to handle dangerous information.
  • Jiu Feng, Mona, and Miller quickly commit to the project and divide its research tasks.
  • Fang proves dependable by maintaining the writing machine and collecting its pages.
  • Simon and Dai Le update Yu Yuan on the Hideout’s operations; Simon also reports on the generator’s failed Speedsters.
  • Yu Yuan gives Miemie food and a chance to rest, while Little Jenny eagerly plays with Miemie and Zhizhi.
  • The newly active Electromagnetic Pulse Worm lands on Yu Yuan’s hand, signaling that its long period of feeding is over.

Significant themes

  • Ambition and opportunity: Powerful creatures may be drawn by secrets and Spirituality imprints that could help them advance.
  • Dangerous knowledge and protection: The Blood Brew Recipe can corrupt readers, but Yu Yuan’s Mystic talent shields him.
  • Preparation and cooperation: The Society’s ambitious plan depends on each member contributing specialized work.
  • Growth and sustainability: The Hideout’s breeding, farming, and power systems develop alongside its more dangerous research.

Ch. 425Frost Wraith · Wendigo, [Biological Enhancement Injection Recipe] (Epic Grade)

Plot points and events

  • Yu Yuan reads about the Frost Wraith Wendigo, a rare Silver Tier creature that brings cold and hunger, corrupts people through their dreams, and can turn settlements into cannibalistic communities.
  • The description’s symptoms and evidence—gnawed corpses, unusually large cloven-hoof prints, and extreme cold—match the recent attacks on the Iron Anchor Shipping Company. Yu Yuan suspects a Wendigo is responsible.
  • Worried that the creature could spread to nearby settlements, especially the populous Recruit Training Camp, Yu Yuan decides to investigate that night, before a likely third attack.
  • The Automatic Writing Machine completes another cycle and produces a safe, Epic-grade Biological Enhancement Injection recipe, which can rapidly heal injuries and restore much of a person’s strength and energy.

Character developments

  • Yu Yuan briefly experiences unnatural cold and hunger while reading about the Wendigo, but his Mystic talent quickly suppresses both. This suggests the creature’s influence may already be reaching him.
  • He assesses Zhizhi as formidable—stronger than himself in a direct fight—and recognizes that confronting a Wendigo would be dangerous, particularly because of its mental corruption.
  • Zhizhi senses the disturbance, comes to Yu Yuan, and is eager to help.

Character interactions

  • Yu Yuan reassures Zhizhi and tells it they have work to do, turning the creature’s alertness and appetite toward the looming investigation.
  • Yu Yuan recalls the Orthodox Church member’s earlier report and connects it with evidence from old newspapers to build his Wendigo theory.

Significant themes

  • Corruption and contagion: The Wendigo’s hunger can strip people of their humanity and spread through an entire settlement.
  • Responsibility under uncertainty: Yu Yuan chooses not to gamble with nearby communities, even before he has confirmed the creature’s identity.
  • Power and vulnerability: His Mystic talent protects him from the initial symptoms, but the Wendigo’s threat to others—and its dangerous abilities—remains.

Ch. 426Iron Anchor Shipping Company's Scheme: Targeting the Silver-Tier Wendigo

Plot points and events

  • Yu Yuan learns that Iron Anchor Shipping Company chairman Carlos has contacted Golden Tooth, claiming interest in joining the Black Rock Trade Association. Yu Yuan recognizes the real motive: the company is frightened by mysterious attacks and wants others to share the danger.
  • Yu Yuan tells Zhou Yuan to neither accept nor reject Carlos’s offer, but to stall while he investigates. His goal is to confirm whether the attacker is the Silver-Tier Wendigo, a threat to Green Forest City.
  • Hidden in the Shadow Dimension, Yu Yuan watches the company’s underground base, where dozens of armed thugs are waiting for the creature.
  • At one in the morning, Zhizhi detects a spiritual disturbance. A towering, antlered Wendigo forms out of the snow and blizzard, confirming Yu Yuan’s suspicions.
  • Zhizhi judges the creature powerful and advantaged by its icy surroundings, though it believes night gives it a countervailing advantage.
  • Yu Yuan sends Jiu Feng photographs and a summary of his observations so specialists can analyze the Wendigo biologically and spiritually.
  • The Wendigo approaches the base, shrinks to about two meters, and disappears through its entrance in a swirl of snow. Yu Yuan senses that it has put more than a dozen guards to sleep and drawn them into strange dreams. He seizes the chance to enter their dreams as a nightmare.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan shows caution and strategic patience: he sees through the company’s offer, prioritizes confirming the threat, and delegates scientific analysis to experts. He remains confident enough to exploit the Wendigo’s attack.
  • Zhou Yuan and Golden Tooth act as careful intermediaries. Golden Tooth suspects Carlos’s unusual offer is a pretext, alerts Zhou Yuan, and Zhou promptly reports it to Yu Yuan.
  • Zhizhi detects the Wendigo before Yu Yuan can and displays unusual seriousness, while still trusting its own ability to fight at night.
  • Carlos is presented indirectly as trying to draw the Black Rock Trade Association into the danger facing his company.

Significant themes

  • Deception and strategic caution: The company’s apparent bid to join is actually an attempt to shift risk onto others.
  • The value of specialized cooperation: Yu Yuan relies on Jiu Feng’s expertise to assess a threat that cannot be understood by observation alone.
  • Escalating danger and adaptation: The Wendigo’s power is established through its supernatural appearance, entry, and influence over the guards, while Yu Yuan adapts by using his own nightmare abilities.

Ch. 427First Clash with the Wendigo in a Battle of Dreams

Plot points

  • In a dream, a thug with glowing green eyes ravenously eats a person, transforms into a skeletal, clawed creature, and soon becomes hungry again. Driven to madness, he tears open his own abdomen and eats his organs while the Wendigo watches.
  • Yu Yuan observes from concealment and realizes he is inside the thug’s dream. He has followed the Wendigo through several victims’ dreams, learning that it can mark people and spread mental corruption through dreams.
  • Concerned the Wendigo could threaten the Recruit Training Camp and the All-Nations Covenant Civilization, Yu Yuan decides to attack it in the dream, where his City Nightmare power gives him an advantage.
  • He projects his Epic Grade steam-powered hammer into the dream and strikes the Wendigo with a charged Skullcrusher. The blow only cracks its skull slightly. The Wendigo retaliates, forcing Yu Yuan back, and he prepares to target its knees instead.
  • Before he can strike again, a booming voice says, “Hunger…”

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan moves from observing and investigating to taking direct action. Though startled by the Wendigo’s resilience, he remains tactical and adapts his plan.
  • The thug is shown completely overcome by the Wendigo’s influence: he treats a human as food, changes physically, and ultimately consumes himself.
  • The Wendigo appears patient and predatory, watching its victim die before moving between dreams. It proves powerful enough to withstand Yu Yuan’s strongest attack and confronts him directly.
  • The chapter’s central interaction shifts from the Wendigo preying on the thug to Yu Yuan challenging the Wendigo on his own dream-territory.

Significant themes

  • Hunger and loss of humanity: The Wendigo’s corruption turns appetite into an endless, self-destructive compulsion.
  • Dreams as battleground: The dream realm grants Yu Yuan unusual power, but it also gives the Wendigo a means to invade and prey on people.
  • Threat and uncertainty: The Wendigo’s unexpected durability raises the stakes and suggests Yu Yuan may have misjudged the danger.

Ch. 428Silver-tier creatures clash: Zhizhi takes on the Wendigo

Key plot points and events

  • The Wendigo attacks Yu Yuan’s mind while they clash inside a dream, briefly overwhelming him with hunger.
  • Yu Yuan’s accumulated mental resistance lets him recover quickly. His Psionic Power trait, Diagnosis, then triggers and gives the Wendigo an epileptic seizure.
  • Yu Yuan exploits the opening, repeatedly striking the creature’s neck with his Epic Grade sledgehammer while using Nightmare Projection to make the dream attacks affect its real body.
  • The Wendigo escapes as its dream-form dissolves. Back at the Iron Anchor Shipping Company, its appearance causes panic and a deadly rampage among the thugs.
  • The wounded Wendigo emerges into the snow and heals by absorbing it, while its blizzard grows stronger.
  • Yu Yuan leaves the Shadow Dimension and orders Zhizhi to attack before the Wendigo can recover. Zhizhi gathers the nearby shadows into a five-meter-tall Shadow Rat and confronts it.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan demonstrates that his mental defenses and specialized abilities can turn the Wendigo’s own attack against it. He is also quick to seize an advantage, pressing his assault despite the danger.
  • Zhizhi acts as Yu Yuan’s scout and loyal combat partner, reporting the Wendigo’s movements and immediately obeying his command to strike.
  • The Wendigo shifts from arrogant confidence to panic when Yu Yuan resists its corruption, then escapes and begins healing. Its recovery makes it a persistent threat.

Significant themes

  • Preparation and adaptation: Yu Yuan’s accumulated resistance and abilities prove decisive against a stronger enemy.
  • Seizing fleeting opportunities: Yu Yuan attacks while the Wendigo is disabled and later mobilizes Zhizhi before it can fully heal.
  • Power and vulnerability: Even a Silver-Tier monster can be incapacitated, but its strength and ability to recover quickly remain formidable.
  • Collateral danger: The Wendigo’s presence brings chaos and death to the thugs, emphasizing the threat it poses beyond Yu Yuan’s direct confrontation.

Ch. 429Fierce Battle, Escape, and the Wendigo Blood Crystal

Plot points and events

  • Hidden Rat (Zhizhi) opens the fight with Secret Shriek, briefly stunning the Wendigo, then attacks. The Wendigo quickly breaks free, freezes Zhizhi despite its shadow body, and disrupts it with a mental attack.
  • Yu Yuan uses Diagnosis—Amnesia to erase the Wendigo’s memories of the previous hour, leaving it confused long enough for Zhizhi to knock it back. Yu Yuan follows with an RPG, but the Wendigo survives and rapidly heals.
  • The Wendigo summons blizzards filled with razor-sharp ice. Yu Yuan escapes with Shadow Step, and Zhizhi’s shriek creates another opening. Yu Yuan fires the lightning-imbued Secret Contract of Thunder into the Wendigo’s mouth, seriously hurting it.
  • The Wendigo vanishes into a blizzard before Yu Yuan can finish it. The signs confirm it escaped rather than died. Zhizhi finds an ice-like Wendigo Blood Crystal, which Yu Yuan identifies as a high-value material.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan uses his abilities, weapons, and timing strategically, but recognizes how far outmatched he is by the Wendigo’s strength and regeneration.
  • Zhizhi fights at full power, repeatedly setting up openings and protecting Yu Yuan—most notably carrying him into firing position with its tail.
  • The Wendigo proves both resilient and intelligent: it adapts to Zhizhi’s attack, counterattacks with mental and ice powers, and escapes after taking damage. Its final stare suggests it will remember Yu Yuan.

Significant themes

  • The limits of power: Even coordinated attacks and powerful weapons cannot easily defeat a Silver Tier opponent.
  • Teamwork and tactical resourcefulness: Yu Yuan and Zhizhi combine their abilities to survive and wound a much stronger enemy.
  • Survival over victory: The Wendigo escapes, but the battle yields a valuable crystal and reveals the danger it poses.

Ch. 430Fragments of Wendigo Bloodline Memories: Lilith and Vlad?

Plot points and events

  • Yu Yuan retrieves a rare Silver-tier Wendigo blood crystal and stores it in his Rabbit Ring.
  • Using [Diagnosis—Amnesia] on the Wendigo had also let him absorb a fragment of its bloodline memory. The vision showed an ancient war between a chaotic Demon faction and a radiant, technologically advanced opposing force.
  • In the memory, Yu Yuan sees Lilith and Vlad serving among the Blood Grand Duke’s forces. He suspects they are the future Witch of the Night and Vampire Ancestor, then links the battle to the conflict in which Vlad killed an angel and earned Lilith’s hand in marriage.
  • Yu Yuan realizes he cannot retain the faces of powerful beings because of the vast difference in their ranks. The memory also supports his suspicion that the Wendigo has Frost Demon blood.
  • The Wendigo’s escape has exposed a dangerous weakness in Yu Yuan’s knowledge of its powers: it can vanish into wind and snow. He plans to counter it next time with a sealing skill and [Breath of Thunder].
  • At Iron Anchor Shipping Company, Zhizhi binds the survivors. Yu Yuan orders them killed, fearing the Wendigo may have corrupted them and that taking them back to camp would endanger everyone.
  • Yu Yuan and Zhizhi search the building for supplies and clues to why the Wendigo attacked. Yu Yuan finds something, but the chapter ends before its nature is revealed.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan gains valuable historical insight and a better tactical understanding of the Wendigo, but his caution leads him to make a grim decision about the survivors.
  • Zhizhi remains loyal and effective, restraining the company’s survivors and carrying out Yu Yuan’s order.
  • Lilith and Vlad, glimpsed in the memory, reveal an early antagonistic dynamic: Lilith rebuffs Vlad’s protectiveness, while Vlad reacts with possessive jealousy when the Wendigo looks at her.
  • Yu Yuan and Zhizhi work closely together, first controlling the survivors and then investigating the company.

Significant themes

  • Power and perspective: Great beings are difficult for weaker observers even to remember clearly.
  • Knowledge as survival: Yu Yuan’s lack of knowledge let the Wendigo escape; understanding its abilities may decide their next encounter.
  • Security versus mercy: Yu Yuan chooses to kill potential victims of corruption rather than risk bringing a hidden threat to camp.
  • Deep history and legacy: The Wendigo’s memory connects present dangers to an ancient war and the origins of major figures.

Ch. 431[Celestial Phenomenon—Enlightenment], awakening Spirituality—[Cured Yet Drooling!]

Key plot points and events

  • Yu Yuan searches the Iron Anchor Shipping Company’s headquarters and finds its people dead, their bodies mutilated and partially eaten. He recognizes the remains as human and suspects the Wendigos exploit the desperate hunger of people suffering from cold.
  • He collects the company’s remaining food, weapons, ammunition, and supplies, then returns to the Starry Sky Observatory to await a new Celestial Phenomenon card.
  • While waiting, he learns that the Blood Clan has decisively defeated the Wolf Clan in a series of Civilization Wars. The Wolf Clan’s remaining elites are being targeted, leaving its ordinary members vulnerable.
  • The Blood Clan’s growing power changes how other players view Yu Yuan’s shelter, since Moonshadow Breath—a formidable Blood Clan fighter associated with Moss Cottage—is connected to him. Yu Yuan identifies Xiao Wu’s sister as his greatest future threat.
  • Yu Yuan plans to advance to Bronze Tier during the Endless Cold Wave’s Third Stage, when the extreme cold may give him an advantage. He also plans to unite Green Forest City, targeting the Mei Alliance next and preparing for conflict with the Humpback Whale and Marauder Prison.
  • The newly formed Gold card, [Celestial Phenomenon—Enlightenment], can awaken one talent, Psionic Power, skill, or tactic. Yu Yuan chooses to use it on his proven combat ability, “Cured Yet Drooling!”, rather than his information-gathering Mystic talent. The card’s effect begins, but the result is not yet revealed.

Character developments

  • Yu Yuan remains pragmatic: he gathers supplies, assesses threats, and times his advancement around the harsh conditions that might protect him.
  • He recognizes that his Mystic talent is valuable but prioritizes immediate survival and combat strength.
  • Moonshadow Breath emerges as a major force: she wins her war quickly and aggressively pursues the Wolf Clan’s survivors.

Significant themes

  • Survival under extreme hardship: starvation and cold can drive people to horrifying acts.
  • Power and shifting alliances: the Blood Clan’s victory reshapes the balance of influence among players.
  • Preparation and strategic timing: Yu Yuan plans his advancement and campaigns around specific threats and environmental advantages.
  • Choosing how to grow: Yu Yuan weighs knowledge against combat power and chooses the ability most likely to keep him alive.

Character interactions

  • Yu Yuan has no direct conversations in the chapter, but other players discuss him, his shelter, and Moonshadow Breath’s connection to it.
  • Players who had previously contacted Moonshadow Breath share theories about why invasions of Yu Yuan’s shelter have failed, hoping to gain her favor.
  • Yu Yuan mentally compares himself with Xiao Wu’s sister and prepares for their eventual conflict.

Ch. 432A new psionic template [Psychiatric Patients' Support Chat]

Key plot points and events

  • After receiving the Gold Tier Enlightenment effect, Yu Yuan’s existing Psionic Power is strengthened: his spiritual energy triples, allowing him to use it six times daily. It also gains Diagnosis—ALS, which temporarily causes severe motor-neuron symptoms and leaves lingering weakness and poor coordination.
  • More importantly, Yu Yuan gains a new Psionic Power template, Psychiatric Patients’ Support Chat. It can help him resist mental trauma and detect nearby people with psychiatric conditions, while letting him influence others through conversations about mental illness. Its effects can also reach entities mentally linked to the person he addresses.
  • Yu Yuan recognizes that this power may counter Wendigo’s mental corruption. He plans to regularly check on the Recruit Training Camp and Aurora Animal Assistance Society to protect their members.
  • The newspaper reports that enormous beings fought outside Iron Anchor Shipping Company at Greenforest Port, killing everyone there. Jaeger, an Orthodox Church member, senses a cold, high-ranking Demon divine attendant and decides to investigate the port.
  • Baku has deciphered the energy circulation system of Mechanical Augmenters but lacks the resources to carry out human augmentation. He considers approaching the Aurora Animal Assistance Society for cooperation.
  • Yu Yuan notes that Zhizhi’s Rat-Tail Whip has finished cooling down and has already selected his next target for Enslavement.
  • After another Civilization War, Xiao Xi reads information about Fish Abyss Shelter. She suspects its danger may come from its location or a drastic environmental change, but cannot determine which, so she opens her friends list.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan’s powers expand dramatically, but the new template also reveals that he has mild anxiety. He accepts this as a comparatively good condition in the Wasteland and notes possible coping methods.
  • His thinking shifts from simply gaining power to using it defensively: he intends to guard allied communities against Wendigo’s influence.
  • Jaeger acts on what he heard and sensed, choosing to investigate the port.
  • Baku recognizes the Aurora Animal Assistance Society as a possible partner, though he has not yet figured out how to contact them.
  • Xiao Xi tries to interpret the clues about Fish Abyss Shelter and turns to her contacts for help.

Significant themes

  • Power and vulnerability: Yu Yuan gains formidable abilities but discovers that he is not mentally untouched himself.
  • Healing versus harm: The psychiatric power can offer psychological guidance, but it can also induce or worsen mental illness.
  • Mental health as a battlefield: The new ability may counter the same kind of psychological manipulation Wendigo uses against others.
  • Cooperation and uncertainty: Baku’s research and Xiao Xi’s investigation both point toward the importance of allies when knowledge or resources are insufficient.

Ch. 433The Astral Orbit Order, Bishop Nate, and the Mechanical Vanguard Society's Secret Weapon

Plot points and events

  • Xiao Xi learns that the recent deaths of players who entered Fish Abyss Shelter were caused by extreme cold. Images supplied by Greenfield Cruise Ship show a snowbound city where Kobolds freeze in deep snow. Xiao Xi pays five million Survival Points for the information.
  • Xiao Xi receives word from Duke Night Ancient that she will undergo the ritual to advance to Silver Tier the following day. With the Wolf Clan striking back and seeking help from Blood Abyss, she must prepare.
  • Xiao Xi considers attacking Yu Yuan but decides to wait until he advances to Bronze Tier. Black Domain Hideout’s death has frightened other players away, and surviving Fish Abyss Shelter’s severe cold suggests Yu Yuan is unusually capable.
  • Yu Yuan questions Jaeger, an Orthodox Church follower he captured, about Bishop Nate. Jaeger explains that Nate can transform into a towering mythic form of lava, fire, and rock, making him devastatingly powerful.
  • Nate’s power is limited: remaining in mythic form too long could kill him. The Mechanical Vanguard Society also has a secret weapon. During Nate’s assault on its strongholds, a red beam briefly pinned him and destroyed half his body. He survived after the Orthodox Church rescued and treated him.
  • The chapter ends with a notification that Yu Yuan’s understanding of the Orthodox Church’s followers has triggered an effect from his “Devout Believer” title.

Character developments and interactions

  • Xiao Xi is ambitious about joining the Blood Clan’s upper ranks, but her caution grows after learning how deadly Fish Abyss Shelter is. She chooses patience over a risky confrontation with Yu Yuan.
  • Yu Yuan learns about a major threat and potential power balance in Eden. His interrogation of Jaeger shows his interest in both Bishop Nate’s abilities and the Mechanical Vanguard Society’s weapon.
  • Jaeger is devoted to Yu Yuan after being captured and provides a vivid account of Nate’s battle, though he admits the weapon’s nature remains unknown.
  • Greenfield Cruise Ship acts as a reliable information broker, exchanging intelligence for a high price. Duke Night Ancient directs Xiao Xi’s upcoming advancement and warns her about the Wolf Clan.

Significant themes

  • Survival through information: Knowing the environment’s true dangers can be as vital as combat strength.
  • Power and its limits: Nate’s extraordinary form comes at a potentially fatal cost, while the Mechanical Vanguard Society’s weapon can injure even a powerful opponent.
  • Ambition tempered by caution: Xiao Xi’s desire to advance and gain status is balanced by the need to wait for a safer opportunity.
  • Hidden threats and shifting alliances: The Wolf Clan’s outreach to Blood Abyss and the Mechanical Vanguard Society’s secret weapon point to escalating conflict.

Ch. 434["Devout" Believer] Faith Disguise, progress and change

Chapter summary

After Jaeger reveals that Bishop Nate is approaching Green Forest City from the Terra Continent, Yu Yuan releases him to serve as an inside agent. Jaeger’s position within the Humpback Whale gives Yu Yuan control of 75% of the faction, though Yu Yuan has exhausted his Commander Affiliate Crystals and must gather intelligence from Jaeger personally.
The exchange triggers Yu Yuan’s title, [The “Devout” Believer], unlocking a new Faith Disguise: [Lava Believer]. The disguise convincingly makes his spiritual aura seem stronger than that of a High Divine Attendant. Yu Yuan decides to investigate the Orthodox Church and its Lava Demon origins, studying religious texts and ritual materials. He also notes that the title may let him infiltrate faiths through study and grow stronger by killing believers. His research deepens his Lava Believer faith over the following days.
Meanwhile, Yu Yuan brings the Mei Alliance under his control. After Zhizhi reveals her true form and Yu Yuan kills the holdouts, the remaining 314 thugs surrender and enter the Recruit Training Camp.
The All-Nations Covenant Civilization continues expanding its strength. Research at the Aurora Animal Assistance Society advances, Mona refines a ritual to trace vampire ancestry, and Dead Mine Town repairs and expands its defenses while continuing to mine for uranium and other materials.
The largest changes occur at the Recruit Training Camp. A new military-rank system rewards service with promotions and attribute bonuses. All 146 expedition survivors are promoted; 43 become noncommissioned officers, five become junior officers, and Alpha Wolf and Carmen receive the rank of major. With more than 1,700 people now at the camp, preparations begin for a Third Pioneer Corps, while veterans of the first two corps advance into specialized combat classes. Disabled veterans become assistant instructors and are encouraged by research into limb regeneration and prosthetics.

Character and relationship developments

  • Yu Yuan grows more strategic: he uses Jaeger as an informant, plans to exploit his Lava Believer disguise, and consolidates power over the Mei Alliance.
  • Jaeger shifts from being under Yu Yuan’s control to acting as his covert source inside the Humpback Whale.
  • Alpha Wolf and Carmen gain authority and help shape the expanding military.
  • Former members of the Reis Legion and Dawn Consortium begin to feel genuine belonging in their new home. Mei Alliance thugs accept their incorporation more readily once they learn they have joined the powerful Black Shield Police Department.
  • The disabled veterans retain hope and purpose as instructors, rather than succumbing to despair.

Major themes

  • Faith as disguise and power: Yu Yuan’s ability to imitate and strengthen a religion gives him a potential route into the Orthodox Church.
  • Consolidation through fear and loyalty: Yu Yuan subdues resistance, while the growing strength of his organization encourages former enemies to identify with it.
  • Progress through institutions and research: Promotions, training, military construction, and biological and mechanical research steadily improve the civilization.
  • Belonging and transformation: People who joined under pressure begin to see the faction as their home, while wounded veterans look toward renewed ability and service.
The chapter ends with a message from Marsil announcing progress in her Mechanical Armor research.

Ch. 435[Simple Mechanical Armor Blueprint], Carmen's worries

Key plot points and events

  • Marsil presents Yu Yuan with a preliminary Simple Mechanical Armor Blueprint, developed with the team. Its streamlined design protects the torso and limbs while improving strength, mobility, carrying capacity, and weapon handling.
  • The armor has active and passive modes. Active mode uses batteries to provide a major combat boost for about 1.5 hours; passive springs and levers reduce fatigue during routine movement. Its accessible materials and simple production requirements make it suitable for mass production.
  • Marsil identifies two obstacles to future improvements: better frame materials and a stronger energy source. Yu Yuan agrees to seek solutions and suggests exploring biological materials such as bones and scales with Mona.
  • After Marsil leaves, Carmen warns Yu Yuan that their insulation may not withstand the Third Stage’s Extreme Cold Disaster. Yu Yuan takes the danger seriously: relocating would mean losing the Recruit Training Camp’s benefits and abandoning the Aurora Animal Assistance Society’s important research. He asks why the coal sent from Dead Mine Town has not solved the problem.

Character developments and interactions

  • Marsil shows pride in the design and confidently explains how its power modes make the limited battery life practical. She acknowledges its shortcomings but remains open to Yu Yuan’s ideas.
  • Yu Yuan recognizes the armor’s strategic potential, offers practical guidance, and commits to helping improve it. His focus then shifts sharply from technological progress to protecting the settlement’s people and research.

Ch. 436The [Lava Believer]'s faith disguise: Subjugation and entry into the Lava World

Key plot points and events

  • Yu Yuan realizes the Recruit Training Camp may become unlivable during the coming cold. Coal and stoves cannot reliably keep the large underground site warm once temperatures plunge toward −98°C.
  • He considers the volcanic Lava Kobold World as a potential source of heat: its Lava Ore gives off warmth and could help his people survive.
  • Researcher Miller reports that high temperatures accelerate the breakdown of Wendigo genes. Lava Kobold genes also interact with Wendigo genes in ways that suggest a natural opposition between the two.
  • Since the Lava Kobold World’s heat and toxic gases make it too dangerous for the Pioneer Corps, Yu Yuan decides to go himself with the Kobolds in containment.
  • Using the “Devout” title’s Lava Believer’s Faith Disguise, Yu Yuan convincingly appears to be a lava entity. Six Bronze Tier Lava Kobolds submit to him, and he wins over the Ascetic as well.
  • Yu Yuan stores all seven followers in the Loser’s Cube, informs Carmen, the Alpha Wolf, and Mona, and spends 500,000 Survival Points to enter their world.
  • The group arrives in a harsh volcanic landscape of smoky volcanoes, magma rivers, steam vents, and charred trees. Yu Yuan releases the Kobolds and Ascetic, then orders the Kobolds to lead him to their former territory.

Character developments

  • Yu Yuan responds to the looming cold crisis with a practical plan, and discovers that his faith disguise can win the Lava Kobolds’ loyalty far more easily than expected. He takes a bold step into their dangerous world.
  • Miller and Jiu Feng advance their Wendigo research, identifying heat as a weakness and a possible connection between Wendigo and Lava Kobold biology.
  • The Lava Kobolds show enthusiastic, apparently sincere submission to Yu Yuan under the disguise.
  • The Ascetic reveals his deep attachment to the volcanic environment, embracing it with joy and reverence.

Significant themes

  • Adaptation and survival: Yu Yuan seeks new resources and environments to prepare for the worsening cold.
  • Opposites in nature: Heat and cold, lava and frost, appear to be biological as well as elemental antagonists.
  • Faith and identity: Yu Yuan’s assumed religious status overcomes the apparent barrier of his human form and secures unquestioning loyalty.
  • Risk and opportunity: The Lava World is dangerous, but may hold the warmth and resources needed to protect Yu Yuan’s people.

Character interactions

  • Carmen alerts Yu Yuan to the Training Camp’s heating limits; he reassures her and develops an alternative plan.
  • Miller explains the research findings, while Yu Yuan connects them to the Lava World and questions whether it can be safely entered.
  • Yu Yuan’s disguise transforms his encounter with the Lava Kobolds: instead of resisting him, they prostrate themselves and accept him as their lord.
  • On arrival, the Kobolds celebrate their homecoming, the Ascetic worshipfully embraces the landscape, and Yu Yuan directs the Kobolds to guide him to their old territory.

Ch. 437Subjugating the Lava Kobold Tribe and Obtaining [Spirituality Crystals]

Summary

  • Yu Yuan searched Black Domain’s mine hideout with the help of six Bronze Tier Kobolds. He found large stocks of ordinary and rare minerals, including the heat-radiating lava ore needed to protect Green Forest City from the coming Ice Age. The hideout also contained two rare Inner Earth Flame Crystals and a cache of steam-powered shotguns.
  • Yan Yi explained that Black Domain had prepared the weapons for a neighboring Lava Kobold tribe he planned to conquer. Yu Yuan saw the tribe as a useful native workforce and traveled there.
  • The tribe—over a hundred ordinary Kobolds and four Bronze Tier Kobolds—submitted to Yu Yuan because they sensed his purified Lava Believer aura. He named their chief Black Flame and ordered the tribe to mine the rich lava-ore vein beneath their settlement.
  • To raise his Spirituality collection progress, Yu Yuan returned to Green Forest City and killed the twenty-four Mutated Creatures held by the Aurora Animal Assistance Society. Their deaths yielded two Spirituality Crystals; their bodies were saved as food for Hogg. Yu Yuan then returned to the hideout and began using a crystal to craft a Commander Affiliate Crystal.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan turns the neighboring tribe into a labor force, prioritizing lava-ore extraction as protection against the approaching extreme cold. He also makes a pragmatic decision to kill creatures that have outlived their usefulness to the research group.
  • Black Flame becomes chief of the tribe under Yu Yuan’s command. He and the other Bronze Tier Kobolds interpret Yu Yuan’s aura as evidence of a connection to a powerful Lava Demon and hope service might help them advance.
  • Yan Yi provides intelligence about the weapons, neighboring Kobolds, and local enemies, helping Yu Yuan assess the region.
  • Jiu Feng explains why the research group has kept the Mutated Creatures dormant and agrees to release them when Yu Yuan requests them.

Significant themes

  • Practical survival and resource management: Yu Yuan uses local labor and minerals to prepare for the Ice Age, while converting surplus creatures into Spirituality and food.
  • Power, hierarchy, and faith: The Kobolds’ submission reflects their inherited belief in serving stronger beings and their hope of rising beyond Bronze Tier.
  • Turning obstacles into assets: A potentially unsuitable world becomes valuable through its native workforce, unique ores, and the resources Yu Yuan can gather there.

Ch. 438Speedster Power Plant Design Completed, Maximum Daily Output of 50–70 Megawatts

Key plot points and events

  • Yu Yuan reviews his rewards from the Black Domain Hideout. He saves the Bloodline Purification Potion for Hogg to use after Hogg combines his Vampire and Werewolf bloodlines, and plans to add the Demon Metallurgy School’s smelting knowledge to the Mechanical Titan’s control panel.
  • He examines an invitation to the ruins of an advanced civilization, which open in about a month. Entry is limited to one player per invitation and requires leading a civilization and reaching Bronze Tier. With seven invitations indicated, Yu Yuan anticipates competition—including potentially stronger Silver Tier players—and resolves to prepare.
  • Yu Yuan installs a Steam-Powered Kinetic Shotgun production line and a Multi-Functional Armor production line at the Recruit Training Camp. He loads a draft blueprint for simple mechanical armor and begins buying its components through Taotao Cave.
  • Erxiao informs him that the Speedster Power Plant’s initial design is complete. Yu Yuan inspects the design and approves it. The modular plant can use 100–1,000 running wheels; at full scale, it is projected to generate 50–70 megawatt-hours per day.
  • Yu Yuan orders Carmen to take the experts to Dead Mine Town and begin producing the plant’s components.

Character developments and interactions

  • Yu Yuan demonstrates strategic foresight by reserving the potion for a more effective use, preparing for the ruins’ dangers, and expanding his settlement’s manufacturing capacity.

Ch. 439The Wendigo's Whereabouts, a Friend Request from the Greenfield Cruise Ship

Key plot points and events

  • Zhizhi uses the Wendigo Blood Crystal to create a Spiritual connection and track the Wendigo. The crystal crumbles once the search succeeds.
  • Yu Yuan had chosen this use for the crystal over exploring the Spiritual Dimension or making a healing injection, hoping to locate the Wendigo and eventually obtain more of its blood.
  • Zhizhi discovers the Wendigo is in another world: a frozen landscape of glaciers and cliffs. It is recovering in a canyon after killing and eating a four-armed Snake Person.
  • The Wendigo’s head wound is still healing, but the Secret Contract of Thunder has significantly slowed its recovery. Yu Yuan orders Zhizhi to alert him if it returns to their world.
  • Yu Yuan checks his preparations: the Secret Contract of Thunder is fully recharged, five Commander Affiliate Crystals are ready for distribution, and his sale of the Spirit-Nurturing Pool Blueprint earns him 1.83 million Survival Points.
  • A ship called the Greenfield Cruise Ship sends Yu Yuan a friend request, claiming someone bought information about him and offering to talk.

Character developments

  • Yu Yuan remains pragmatic and calculating: he treats the Wendigo as a source of valuable resources and prioritizes long-term surveillance over immediate gains. He is relieved that his weapon weakened the creature, but stays prepared for its return.
  • Zhizhi demonstrates that its tracking ability can follow a connection through the Spiritual Dimension, though it cannot travel between worlds itself.
  • The Wendigo is established as a formidable, interworld-traveling creature whose healing and mind-corrupting abilities make it dangerous even while recovering.

Significant themes

  • Preparation and vigilance: Yu Yuan monitors the Wendigo and keeps his weapon ready rather than assuming it is defeated.
  • Resourcefulness and exploitation: He chooses the blood crystal’s use that might yield further Silver Tier materials.
  • Hidden threats and expanding worlds: The Wendigo’s presence in another world suggests dangers beyond Yu Yuan’s immediate surroundings.
  • Information as power: The unexplained purchase of information about Yu Yuan introduces a new potential threat or alliance.

Character interactions

  • Yu Yuan questions Zhizhi about the tracking results, then instructs it to keep watch and report the Wendigo’s return.
  • Zhizhi reassures Yu Yuan with its discovery and detailed account of the Wendigo’s location and condition.
  • The Greenfield Cruise Ship initiates contact with Yu Yuan, hinting that someone is gathering intelligence about him.

Character developments

  • Yu Yuan shows caution and strategic skepticism, recognizing that a seemingly free gift may carry hidden costs. He seeks to understand Greenfield’s intentions before trusting her.
  • Greenfield is revealed as a calculating but courteous operator. She uses prophecy to identify promising people and cultivate relationships, and she views Yu Yuan as a potential future asset.
  • Xiao Xi remains an off-page threat; her attempt to obtain a prophecy about Yu Yuan confirms her continued interest in him.

Significant themes

  • Trust and hidden costs: Yu Yuan questions whether “free” information comes with an unseen price.
  • Prophecy and uncertainty: Greenfield can glimpse possible futures, but a mysterious force blocks reliable knowledge of the coming upheaval.
  • Power shifts and preparation: The visions suggest established powers may fall, making early alliances and investments important.
  • Information as leverage: Both the paid report and Greenfield’s outreach show how knowledge can be used to shape relationships and future advantage.

Character interactions
