Shen Baili did not cut ties with Su Yan right away. She kept a polite distance instead.
Su Yan acted no differently than before. It seemed the Su Family had shown a rare bit of decency and kept the truth from her so she could prepare for the National College Entrance Examination in peace.
Su Yan sensed the change in Shen Baili. She quietly asked Zhu Zhitao, "Taotao, has Suìsuì been unhappy lately?"
"Or did I make her mad?" Su Yan slumped over her desk and sighed. "I feel like she's been so distant with me lately."
Zhu Zhitao looked up from her mountain of practice questions, as though all the life had been drained out of her. She frowned slightly. "No, she hasn't."
"Yan Yan, are you under too much pressure lately?"
Sang Fang agreed. "Want to grab a bag of spicy strips at the school store after class?"
That was how they relieved stress.
Su Yan touched the big pimple on her nose. "No! I'm breaking out!"
"I'll have iced herbal tea. It's sweet, cooling, and perfect for summer."
"Let's have herbal tea too. The National College Entrance Examination is only a few days away. We don't want upset stomachs." Zhu Zhitao decided to join her friends.
Sang Fang said, "Works for me."
He had not wanted a snack in the first place. He had only suggested it to comfort Su Yan.
"When we pass the science class, let's ask Suìsuì and the others to come too," Zhu Zhitao suggested, so Su Yan would not overthink things.
When the three passed the window of Science Class One, the class was still in session. Shen Baili was bent over her desk, writing something, and did not notice them.
