He seemed fine, still sitting where he had fallen and fully conscious.

The decorations were a mess, but the candles still faintly spelled out a girl's name.

The onlookers buzzed with speculation.

"How did he fall?"

"I heard it happened last night, and they only found him today!"

"Well, no need for a confession now. The whole school knows he likes Xiaoya!"

The boy's parents were there too, with a girl standing in front of them.

His mother jabbed a finger at the girl and screamed, "You're so young, and you already look like a little vixen! Of all the things you could've learned, you learned to seduce people!"

The whole scene was chaos, full of shouting and arguing.

Doctors, nurses, teachers, parents, and students were all there. The scene was a noisy mess.

"Calm down? How am I supposed to calm down?" His mother suddenly shrieked, her voice sharp and aggressive. "It's not your son who fell, so of course you can stay calm! Don't think your school is getting out of this!"

"I entrusted my son to your school, and this is how you keep him safe? If he's broken an arm or a leg, if there's anything wrong with him at all, if anything happens to him, I'll sue every last one of you! I'll ruin you!"

Qin Shiyue stared in disbelief. For the first time, she saw exactly what it meant to make accusations first, twist the facts, and cause a scene. Her son had wanted to confess to a girl, yet she was blaming the girl for how it had turned out.

The students nearby couldn't stand it either, and they began talking among themselves.

"Is that mother out of her mind? What does this have to do with the girl? Her son wanted to confess, and she's blaming the girl? What the hell?"

"She's threatening the school too. It's obvious she wants the school to pay up. She's trying to squeeze money out of this!"

"Disgusting. Look how ugly she gets when there's money to be had!"

Qin Shiyue felt sick. The girl was the most innocent person there, yet the boy's parents had tracked her down and spent ages blaming her without knowing the facts!

And right in front of them, his parents were still making a scene.

"He's my only son! Ever since he was little, I could barely bear to lay a finger on him. I sent him here because I trusted your school!" The woman burst into tears, sniffling as she cried. "And this—this is how your school looks after my child?"

"If anything happens to him, how are we, his parents, supposed to go on living?"

"And you!" The woman pointed at the girl in front of her. "You're the one who led my son astray! My son is obedient and honest. He'd never do something like confess to a girl unless you put him up to it!"

The boy knew perfectly well that his parents were being unreasonable, but he acted as if he saw nothing. He sat there without a word while the doctor treated his injuries, keeping himself out of it.

If he really liked the girl, how could he sit there and watch her get yelled at? Something was clearly wrong!

Someone couldn't take it anymore and shouted.

"Hey, lady! What do you think you're doing, wailing like that and bullying a young girl? Don't think crying lets you pin the blame on someone else! Who knows what your son was really doing sneaking around the girls' dorm in the middle of the night? Maybe this whole confession setup was just an excuse, and he was actually up to something shady!"

"Exactly! A guy coming to the girls' dorm in the middle of the night? There's no innocent explanation for that! Maybe he was sneaking out at night because he was doing something he didn't want anyone to see!" Once one person spoke up, others gradually joined in.

Shen Luoluo's eyes lit up. [Yes, exactly! He was doing something shady!]
