Cultivation Significance
Yuzhen Pass is a critical obstruction on the Du Meridian. According to the Profound Origin Breathing Technique, passing it further clarifies a cultivator's spiritual sense. It must be crossed through gradual, natural circulation rather than brute force. 8
| Aspect | Details |
|---|---|
| Correct approach | Slowly guide qi for three breaths, focus on the Niwan Palace, then allow it to reverse from the Du Meridian to the Ren Meridian. 9 10 |
| Danger of forcing passage | A forceful surge causes qi to rebound from the pass and scatter uncontrollably through the body, risking severe meridian damage. 8 9 |
| Successful passage | When approached without force, the obstruction loosens after three breaths and qi seeps through “like mist entering a forest.” 11 |
| Result | Passing the gate opens the Du Meridian’s circulation and sharpens perception of the surrounding environment. 11 |
History
During his third daily circulation, Ye Chen attempted to complete his cultivation mission by driving all of his remaining spiritual power upward toward Yuzhen Pass. Mistaking “penetration” for a forced breakthrough, he caused intense pain at his nape and lost control as qi rampaged through his meridians. 8
The System identified the error as a forcibly breached Yuzhen Pass and gave Ye Chen an emergency correction: guide qi slowly for three breaths, focus on the Niwan Palace, and reverse the flow back toward the Ren Meridian. Ye Chen followed this instruction to avert further damage. 9
Afterward, Ye Chen found that Yuzhen Pass had suffered the worst damage from the incident, nearly tearing the Du Meridian apart. He adopted a slower, more attentive cultivation method and treated the pass as a point requiring particular care. 10
While cultivating at a place where earth veins converged, Ye Chen faced the pass again. He refused to force the obstruction; after guarding it calmly for three breaths, qi naturally seeped through. The successful circulation opened the Du Meridian and noticeably sharpened his hearing and awareness. 11
