The Fall of the Luo Family (Part One)

A chill ran down Luo Tai's spine. He had heard of the creature but never seen one. It was not a species found in nature, but something bred through secret methods by the Yinyuan Sect—or rather, the Bai'e Cult. It was vicious beyond measure.

Once a Human-Faced Spider entered a body, it used the person's flesh as a breeding ground and laid eggs at terrifying speed. The eggs traveled through the blood to every corner of the body, even invading the organs. The thought made even Luo Tai shudder.

"Father, you're going to use this against Lin Qing?" Luo Tai asked.

"That's right. The Yinyuan Sect has raised the bounty on Lin Qing to its highest level, even above Yang Chenglu's. If we poison him to death, you and I can receive Evil Spirit's Blessing again," Luo Wandeng said gravely.

"You always have a way, Father." Luo Tai smiled.

"Tai'er, remember this: if our Luo Family is to prosper without end, what matters most is a sharp eye. I believe the Bai'e Cult will rule this world sooner or later," Luo Wandeng instructed him.

"You're right, Father." Luo Tai nodded repeatedly. Ever since Lin Qing had defeated him with ease, he had realized the gulf between himself and a true genius, and his temper had mellowed considerably.

Meanwhile, outside the Luo estate, Lin Qing stood by a window on the top floor of a nearby restaurant. From his vantage point, he could clearly see the estate ablaze with lights. Maids and servants moved to and fro inside, and he could even faintly hear the music of strings and flutes.

Yet just one wall away, ragged beggars shivered in the cold wind.
