Evil Spirit Worship

• Followers seek blessings through prayer, scripture chanting, and sacrifices. Incorporating an Evil Spirit into the soul grants supernatural arts 36.
• Practitioners must strengthen their blood and vitality to suppress the spirit. If it gains control, they risk madness and violence; some consume others’ blood and vitality to sustain themselves 34 36.
• An Evil Spirit can strengthen the Evil Seed within a believer or withdraw its power. Questioning an Evil Spirit is treated as an unforgivable offense 127 131.

Martial Arts and Forbidden Methods

• Mysterious Yin Bone-Scrambling Hand — a low-tier sect art that can dislocate bones and, at Perfect Mastery, produce Cold Marrow Force 30 31.
• Ghost Shadow Step — a silent, unpredictable movement art modeled on wandering ghosts 37.
• Blood Soul Hand — burns vital blood and soul power for a short-lived increase in physical ability 37.
• Bloodflame Incineration — a Hidden Strength method whose force burns an opponent’s blood and organs from within. It also erodes the practitioner’s temperament and can drive them mad 68.

History

Yin Muhua brought sect operatives to Jiangyin County to recover an eight-armed, three-faced wooden Buddha statue containing a lost martial scripture. She kept the search secret from the sect because her son had lost the statue and she hoped to benefit from finding it herself. Her followers’ search was accompanied by killings in the county. Lin Qing later killed Yin Muhua, ending her local operation 5 11 36.

The sect maintained ties with the Han Family and other Jiangyin factions. After the Han Family’s collusion was exposed, Wang Ling’s forces destroyed it and more than a dozen associated factions, though Yinyuan Sect fighters remained active 36 68 70.

In Shichuan Prefectural City, the sect used Song Heilong, the Black Dragon Gang, and the Luo Family to gather children for the Thousand Infant Banquet. The intended Spirit Descent would bring the Spirit-Devouring Demon Child into a human vessel and turn that power against the Soul-Calming Office 96 107 142. Sima Yi completed the ritual by sacrificing more than a thousand infants and children. The awakened vessel immediately drained the blood and vitality of roughly a third of Sima’s elite guards before disappearing 142 143.

The Soul-Calming Office subsequently destroyed the Luo Family and assaulted the sect at Far Mountain Town. All three Great Guardians were killed, followed by Sima Yi. Within three days of his death, twelve sect strongholds had been destroyed and more than a thousand believers killed. Bai’e Cult helmsman Li Wantao then set out to reunite the remaining factions and appoint a new leader 149 153 156 158.
