Feng Ling had always been full of curiosity about Xenomorphs.
She was curious why they appeared.
Curious how they would disappear.
Curious what abilities their Cards possessed, and how much pain their genetically modified bodies could endure. In this regard, she could be inhumanly cold.
But when faced with a Xenomorph with both arms mutilated, covered in blood, and curled up in a human body—
Feng Ling still felt the discomfort of killing her own kind, as well as the dullness of bullying the weak.
Of course, she could not rule out the influence of that Card overflowing with maternal love.
She still hoped the Fishmen would turn back into Fishmen, then curse at her furiously or launch a hateful counterattack, fighting with everything they had to survive. Those would make for much better entertainment.
"Don't kill me..." the Fishman said tremblingly.
Feng Ling was already fully dressed. She watched the Fishman with an encouraging look, hoping it would continue.
"I was only hired. The one who wanted to kill you was him..." Perhaps seeing no killing intent in Feng Ling's eyes, the Fishman gathered its courage to defend itself.
But Feng Ling was not satisfied with that explanation.
She asked the Fishman, "How did you know I was on the river?"
"The employer bought your information on the Forum. Two thousand Points included your name, appearance, your Card's main abilities, and your movements," the Fishman replied.
"My movements?" Feng Ling tilted her head slightly, intrigued. "Does the person selling the information have tracking or investigative abilities?"
"I'm not sure..." the Fishman said quietly. "I only know that they conduct offline transactions with Players at the Mengjia Hotel. As long as you offer enough Points, you can buy anything. I've only been there once, so I'm not familiar with it.
