728. Reaching the Top of the Leaderboard

The weather changed abruptly.

The clear sky, which had been high and scattered with pale clouds, suddenly filled with dark clouds, lightning flashing and thunder rolling.

Inside the car, Pei Xianjue saw this and could not help feeling puzzled. According to the usual pattern when attacking labyrinths, a change in the weather meant the Labyrinth Boss had been eliminated, which was undoubtedly good news. But where was the Boss in this labyrinth?

If there was one, it could only be Feng Ling. Could Feng Ling have been defeated?

How was that possible?

Pei Xianjue felt the odds of Feng Ling being defeated were even lower than winning the lottery.

She picked up the walkie-talkie and ordered, "All groups, prepare for combat. The labyrinth entrance is very likely opening. If you spot any Xenomorphs, take action immediately."

The walkie-talkie was full of static. Pei Xianjue waited a while before a reply came through:

"Reporting, officer, something's wrong. They're all acting strange..."

"They?" Pei Xianjue had barely spoken when she noticed a huge shadow passing overhead.

It was a Kite.

Startled, Pei Xianjue ran out of the car and saw that the Kites that had been standing by in the sky had actually changed direction and were flying away into the distance.

And it was not just the Kites. The Cat Spiders and Big Worms near the labyrinth entrance also seemed to have been provoked by something. They all left their positions and quickly moved away from the labyrinth!

Pei Xianjue was stunned. What was going on?

A tremendous thunderclap exploded in the sky, and the wind around her grew even fiercer. Pei Xianjue braced herself against the wind and grabbed the car door, thinking, Could the Contaminants Feng Ling raised have been frightened by the weather? That shouldn't be possible, right?
