Today was May 26, 2026. I glanced at the publication date of the first chapter: May 6, 2024. It had been two years!

To be honest, it exceeded my expectations. I originally thought I wouldn't be able to keep going, because before I started posting the book, I was in an absolutely terrible state. In the end, under the pressure of making a living, plus my editor's urging and my friends' encouragement, I was basically forced onto the stage before I started writing this story.

When I was designing the characters, I quickly decided on Feng Ling's personality traits. I wanted to write a free person, someone with no KPIs, no burdens, no shadows hanging over her, someone who always looked forward, who always clearly knew what she wanted, who wasn't bound hand and foot by any system of judgment. If she fell down, she got back up. It wasn't that she never experienced setbacks, but that she had a gift for dulling pain. Success made her happy, of course; failure was just failure. I wanted to write her life with an unbeatable margin for error. I wanted to give her countless chances to trial and error, so she could boldly and fearlessly explore this world to her heart's content.

So you would often see Feng Ling stumble in the plot. Some comments said the author deliberately made the character stupid. First of all, I did not do it deliberately. Second, I also don't think stumbling is the same as becoming stupid.
