Background / History
Tang San is born shortly before his mother, Ah Yin, sacrifices herself to save Tang Hao during a battle with Spirit Hall. Tang Hao later settles her Blue Silver Grass form in a mountain cave and brings their son to Holy Soul Village. Grieving and suspicious of the infant’s unusual awareness, he neglects Tang San; Old Jack cares for the baby when Tang Hao leaves him alone 6 52 67.
Tang San retains memories of a previous life as a god-king. He recognizes that this life differs from the one he remembers, but keeps his memories secret. As a young child, he hopes awakening his Martial Souls will restore Tang Hao’s affection. Tang Hao celebrates when Tang San shows him the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver Grass 81 84 86.
At six, Tang San loses Holy Soul Village’s sole work-study place to Jia Dabin, who later gives it to him. At Northeast Academy, Tang San becomes Yu Xiaogang’s disciple; Jia Dabin joins him as Yu’s second student. Both boys are assigned to Dorm Seven, where Tang San meets Xiao Wu again 85 88.
Appearance

- Notable feature: His childhood appearance gives Jia Dabin no reason to suspect the god-king identity Tang San remembers 85 88.
Personality
Tang San trusts the knowledge of his previous life and expects it to help him navigate an altered world. He is cautious about revealing what he remembers, yet remains determined to oppose Spirit Hall despite observing that its conduct and reputation differ from the past he recalls 81 85 89.
He is devoted to Tang Hao and quick to defend him: after Old Jack criticizes his father, Tang San angrily confronts the village chief. He values Yu Xiaogang as a teacher and is prepared to use Hidden Weapons to protect him. Jia Dabin’s constant attention irritates him, while his attempts to reconnect with Xiao Wu are repeatedly frustrated 86 88 91.
