Background / History

Qian Daoliu is Spirit Hall’s Grand Priest and the father of Pope Qian Xunji. He helps raise his granddaughter Qian Renxue in the Worship Hall and considers her a strong candidate to inherit the Angel God’s divine position. When Bibi Dong seeks reconciliation with Renxue, he initially keeps them apart out of concern for the girl. He permits their meeting after Bibi Dong acknowledges how she has treated her daughter 3.

Bibi Dong later makes Qian Xunji appear dead and tells Qian Daoliu that he died from injuries inflicted by Tang Hao. After examining his son, Qian Daoliu believes the report and sets out to pursue Tang Hao. He returns without catching him and is relieved—but furious about the deception—to find Qian Xunji alive 7 30.

Qian Daoliu presides over the ceremony that confers Titled Douluo titles on Gui Mei, Yue Guan, and Bibi Dong. He then formally declares Bibi Dong Spirit Hall’s new Pope 44. When renewed Angel worship appears to have increased the divine power stored at Douluo Palace, he resolves to spread the faith and take a more active role in supporting her leadership 54.

At Bibi Dong’s title-conferral ceremony, Qian Daoliu has white hair falling over his shoulders and a commanding gaze 44.

Six-Winged Angel

Qian Daoliu possesses the Qian family’s Six-Winged Angel martial soul and is a level 99 Ultimate Douluo 7 26.

• His Soul Power pressure can immobilize opponents; he pins Yu Xiaogang to the floor without interrupting the ceremony at Douluo Palace 44.
• His speed allows him to reach the Sun-Moon Continent in five days while searching for Qian Xunji 56 57.
• His ninth Spirit Skill, Angel’s Breath, is powerful enough to stir Sun Volcano. At sea, Bo Saixi defeats it with Sea God Descends, leaving him badly injured 58 65.

Angel God’s Divine Trial

Qian Daoliu reached level 99 through a Divine Trial associated with the Angel God. As Grand Priest, he prepares Qian Xunji’s trial and tends the worship and divine power centered on Douluo Palace 26 52 54.

Relationships

• Qian Xunji — His son. Qian Daoliu is devastated by his staged death, then relieved and angry when he learns the truth. Their relationship remains stern despite his pride in Xunji’s Eight Trials 7 30 53.
• Qian Renxue — His granddaughter and student. He protects her and hopes she will surpass her father and earn the Angel God’s recognition 3 7 53.
• Bibi Dong — His daughter-in-law and Spirit Hall’s successor as Pope. Initially wary of her treatment of Renxue, he later supports her leadership and risks his life protecting her Spirit Ring absorption 3 44 54 65.
• Tang Chen — An old acquaintance and fellow member of the soul-master world’s “Two Peaks.” Qian Daoliu worries about how Spirit Hall’s actions against the Clear Sky Sect affect their ties 16 30 34.
• Bo Saixi — A figure from his past whose opposition to Bibi Dong brings their unresolved feelings into open conflict. He challenges her himself and is badly injured in their battle at sea 64 65.
