Boruto Uzumaki

Beneath a leafy tree, two boys sat facing each other, intent on the Duel Field created by the Duel Disks between them.

The air smelled fresh with leaves, but an intangible tension hung over them.

One boy had short blond hair that shone like sunlight, styled into a distinctive pineapple-like tuft.

He wore a blue-and-white athletic jacket, and impatience showed on his face.

Now he studied the cards in his hand, his bright blue eyes gleaming with concentration.

The boy opposite him looked entirely different. A dark blue ponytail was tied loosely behind his head, leaving his forehead bare above calm eyes.

He wore simple black clothes and carried himself with a composure and laziness beyond his years.

Resting his chin on one hand, he deftly handled his cards with the other. His gaze was steady, as though he had everything under control.

"My turn! Draw!" Boruto shouted, sweeping a finger across the top of his deck with determination.

But one glance at the card he had drawn made him frown even harder.

The field was stacked against him. Breaker the Magical Warrior and the face-down card in Shikadai's back row stood like two solid walls, blocking his attack.

And Boruto had only 500 Life Points left.

"What's wrong, Boruto?" Shikadai drawled, a faint smile playing at his lips. "If you've got nothing to do this turn, I'll finish the duel."

He fell back on psychological tactics, just as his father pressured opponents across a chessboard.

"Cut the chatter, Shikadai!" Boruto gritted his teeth. "I Normal Summon Black Dragon's Chick and activate its special effect! By tributing it, I can Special Summon—come out, my pride and joy! Red-Eyes Black Dragon!"
