Boruto is the son of Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga, and Himawari’s brother. He grows up in a comparatively peaceful shinobi world, but resents the time Naruto’s Hokage duties take from their family. He initially channels that frustration into a plan to paint Naruto’s face on Hokage Rock 421 546.

He rejects the expectation that he should become Hokage. Instead, Boruto wants to be a ninja like Sasuke Uchiha, protecting what matters to him in his own way. He tells Sarada that he will support and protect her if she becomes Hokage 422.
