An Invitation from the Sound Four

When Yor saw their eyes begin to roll back, she loosened her grip just enough to let them draw a precious breath.

Her face darkened. Her golden eyes, usually a little unfocused, now gleamed like poisoned daggers. Her icy killing intent seemed almost solid as it closed around the brothers.

"Talk." Her voice was low and dangerous, devoid of emotion. "Who sent you?"

The Wind and Thunder Brothers were scared out of their wits. They had no doubt that if they hesitated for even a moment, she would snap their necks!

"Your... your husband!" Wind God rasped, forcing the words out with all his strength.

"Mr. Loid?" The gloom and killing intent drained from Yor's face, replaced in an instant by surprise and a hint of inexplicable shyness.

Then she let go.

"Cough, cough!" The brothers hit the ground, clutching their throats as they coughed and gasped for air.

Thunder God hurried to add, terrified of speaking too slowly, "Ma'am! Your husband probably thought you'd been acting a little... mysterious lately. He was afraid you might... have someone else, so he hired us to check."

He watched Yor's expression carefully.

Oh! Had all those assassination missions and irregular hours made Mr. Loid suspicious?

Yor covered her mouth as realization dawned, but it brought a tangle of other feelings with it.

But... our marriage is only pretend, isn't it? Why would Mr. Loid care so much? Could he have feelings for me...?

Her cheeks flushed. She quickly shook her head, trying to drive away those wild thoughts.

She looked back at the Wind and Thunder Brothers, who still sat on the ground, shaken. Then she gave them a positively sunny smile, as though she were an entirely different person from the killer of a moment ago.

"So, you two know what
