Shikadai's words struck like lightning, cutting through the excitement of "about to become a hero" that had clouded Boruto's thoughts. Suddenly, he recalled everything that had happened over the past few days.
He raced through what he knew: Shikadai's father was Shikamaru Nara, Inojin's father was Sai, Denki was the young heir to the Kaminarimon Company, Sarada was his master and Aunt Sakura's daughter, Mitsuki was Orochimaru's son...
He knew at least something about almost every classmate's parents and family background.
Only when it came to their class representative, Sumire Kakei, did he realize he knew practically nothing about her family!
What clan did she come from? Who were her parents? What did they do?
In his memory, she always seemed to wear a gentle smile. She earned excellent grades and gladly helped others—the perfect class representative. Yet her identity seemed shrouded in mist.
A terrible suspicion surged into Boruto's mind, along with Shikadai's reminder about the assistant being the boss and Miss Light.
"Do you guys know who the class representative's parents are? Or what her family does?" Boruto suddenly grabbed Shikadai's arm, his voice urgent.
Startled by his sudden reaction, Shikadai and Inojin exchanged a look, then both shook their heads blankly.
"I don't think I've really heard her mention them."
"Yeah, she doesn't talk much about her family."
"Oh, no!!" Boruto slapped his forehead, his face instantly turning deathly pale. "I might've made a huge mistake!"
Before the words had even left his mouth, he abandoned any attempt to explain and turned, racing toward Sumire Kakei's home like an arrow loosed from a bow. He moved so fast that he left an afterimage in the street.
Shikadai and Inojin were left staring at each other.
"What's gotten into him this time?" The corner of Inojin's mouth twitched.
