• Naruto stole the Sheep Talisman, learned it could send his soul from his body, and began exploring Konoha and the dreams of Sakura and Sasuke.
• Hiruzen stopped Danzō from taking Naruto into Root's custody, while Naruto resolved to become Hokage without relying on secret schemes or driving Sasuke into darkness.
• The Canopy Screen exposed Naraka's influence on Danzō and the Uchiha, and Izumi discovered that Naraka had escaped a seal beneath Naka Shrine.

The story left Kikyo back in Konoha with a mission to gather the Talismans, while the Soul Chatroom and revelations about the moon’s creation widened the conflict.

• Fugaku ordered the Uchiha to flee Konoha, but the clan’s elders chose a deadly forbidden technique, and Izumi’s warning that Naraka was manipulating them was rejected.
• Hiruzen chose Tsunade as the next Hokage, while Danzō admitted killing Shisui and pressured Itachi to eliminate the Uchiha in exchange for Sasuke’s safety.

Back in Konoha, Sasuke received a mysterious key and blade, Team 7 began training for the Chunin Ninja Exams, and Deidara was named Fourth Tsuchikage.
